Great place, great food, and great people… I love the sea urchin spaghetti … Please go.

Great service and wonderful fish and seafood restaurant. A bit pricey but worth the price. They serve whole fish which is strongly recommended to be shared and prepared per the recommendations of the waiter. They also had a Pata Negra pork to die for. Definitely a good address. And don’t skip their great wine list.

Terrible Service!!! Good food and a great atmosphere but the service was sub par. The waiter never filled our wine or water and spilled food on our clothes. A great chef no doubt but the front of the house needs work.

Could be, and I may be exaggerating just a little(but I don’t think so) the best meal I ever had. Service, selection, atmosphere, attention, mixologist, sommelier… the list goes on and on about how well Pierluigi delivers. Bring your checkbook or, better yet, have someone else take you here on their credit card. It’s worth it. Oh and one more word on the bar – the mixologists behind the bar are professionals. They are there to inform and serve excellent cocktails. Have them tell you about the speakeasy a few blocks away.

Classy upscale restaurant — food is good but service is subpar and only praises will be heard. We are a party of 5 and wanted to sit outside. Had to change for weather reasons and moved to table next to waiter service station and next table of heavy smokers. Granted this was not the restaurant fault it took over 30 minutes for my cocktail to arrive — after my delicious main course of veal. Overall food is premium quality and staff is professional but aloof. Dessert is overpriced so we opt for gelato elsewhere and antipasto of tuna tatarte had to be cancelled although it would have been a delicious start with my cocktails had both arrived on time

Terrible meal. How they explain the food on the menu is not true to what you get. This use to be a very good restaurant in Rome but it has 100% gone down hill. Not worth a visit. The waiters are arrogant and the prices are way too high for what you get. Also totally agree that they are sales people. They already had to close one of their locations and this one probably will need to soon also.

Had to walk away disappointed! The service was indifferent and absent. The food definitely only average. Far from worth the money. Practice!

Mediocre food, bait-and-switch pricing, overrated and underwhelming. I’ve lived in Rome two years and we’ve been here twice. Both experiences were awful. Plan to spend a lot of money for little value. The owner is always there making sure the servers don’t steal from him. I abhor this place — a true tourist trap.

SCAMARTISTS!!! Fortunately, the food was good, but we were scammed. Don’t order the specials. For example, the waiter offered the mixed seafood special appetizer. There was a mixed seafood appetizer on the menu and it was € 20, but what we got were three of their standard appetizers that totaled to € 40. Most pasta dishes on the menu were about € 20. We ordered the pasta with fresh truffle, which we expected to be double the price of a standard pasta dish, but it was almost 4x as much. Service wasn’t that great — for what we paid they should have been more attentive. Bottom line, a meal that we expected to be about € 100 for two, was € 239!!!

Excellent sales people but the food, just okay. I’ve had a much nicer dinner in many places for the price and location. Fish served without a crunchy skin. Fish was supposed to be fresh but was dry. Owner or manager sold us a bunch of hors d oeuvres we weren’t interested in nor did we like. Wouldn’t recommend if you are visiting the area.

Recommended by our private tour guide. Amazing! We brought our 13 year old and they made her a special pasta with meat sauce. The spaghetti scampi and veal chop are amazing. Extensive and amazing wine list.

I had a fairly simple lunch here, but it was delicious and the service was friendly. I had a salad with the fried, mixed veggies. The coating was light and everything tasted fresh.

Food can be great, but too expensive for the portions they serve… and too pricey and uppity for my taste.

I came here for Christmas dinner while spending the holiday with my family in Europe. The service and ambiance was exceptional, the food was about on par with the price. The wine was perfect and the staff really made sure our dinner was enjoyable.

I made a reservation before I saw the negative reviews on Unilocal and am glad I didn’t cancel when I saw them. First of all, the service was top notch. Multiple waiters took care of our every need — from food recommendations to a personal tour of the fish selection. For appetizers we had prawns with chili sauce and grilled octopus. Both were delicious! Dinner was a mix of home made pasta with Mediterranean lobster and a fish that was the best fish I have had, cooked to the waiter’s recommendations(I don’t usually get fish). Top it off with two great desserts and a beautiful outside seat. I would recommend Pierluigi to anyone looking for a high end dining experience!

The best for the money doesn’t get you very far. We stayed at the Ritz in Rome we asked for the best place to eat in the area 3 local people said the same thing Pierluigi. I should have been more weary of suggestions from the hotel, but later that day I shared a cab with a fellow American from CT and they also suggested Pierluigi as one of the best restaurant in Rome and the best fish but you need reservations. I suppose since we were staying at the Ritz everyone assumed we wanted an absurdly expensive meal. They were wrong and you have now been warned. We made reservations almost a week in advance. We sat outside and were treated like royalty. The service is head and shoulders above every other restaurant in rome(notwithstanding Caciao e Pepe) The food was spectacularly average. I say that with this caveat. It WASVERY fresh. Extremely fresh. Not Venice fresh but pretty fresh. The server very helpful and his suggestions were perfect. Everything on the menu is good. Not amazing as to justify the prices but good enough that you may be able to rationalize the cost with your palate when you get home.

After seeing so many rave reviews on Unilocal and chowhound we decided to come here on Christmas day last year. The service was very good and they speak English as well as understand my OK Italian… there were 3 of us so we got a couple of appetizers — the carpacci di pesce, the artichokes and the calamari. We had ordered oysters too but we never go them. We went with pastas for our entrees… a squid ink risotto, gnocchi with razor clams and a stuffed baked pasta with prawns. All was good. The pasta with white truffles was tempting but the 75 euro price tag deterred us. The desserts were good, not great although the sbriciolata stood out as being better than average. Do I regret eating here? No. Would I go back… Probably not as there are a whole host of other places I absolutely loved!

On a quiet square with outdoor tables to one side, this seafood centric restaurant is perfect for a nice lunch. The staff speaks English, which is very useful when selecting a fresh fish from the assortment inside. Antipasto: mixed Carpaccio of fresh fish. An assortment of raw(crudo) fish thinly sliced and topped with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Beautifully simple. Cooked octopus Carpaccio: some of the best I’ve had so far. Grilled Fish: Umbrina(a firm white fish) roasted with potatoes and tomatos. Again, simple perfection. In sum, quiet outdoor seating away from busy touristic squares. Super friendly staff. A bit pricey but worth it. Excellent wine list: GREATLUNCHPLACE!
