The owner was extremely rude to us, clearly he is not used to foreign people neither customer oriented. Me and my wife were having dinner here while visiting Rome, ordered a couple dishes and wine, but one of our friends joined us with a slice of pizza she got from another place. I’ve seen some businesses won’t like this so they will approach you and ask you to please not eat there, or tell you that they will have a seating fee, etc. Instead, the owner decided to charge us for something we did not ordered, arguing we did the same thing by bringing a slice of pizza from another place and not asking for permission. Totally innapropiate approach, plus he was loudly telling us not to come back. If you are visiting, avoid this place and save yourself from a bad time.

The pasta was great! Good service, good price and nice place. I order pasta with tomato sauce and it was so delicious, the pasta was homemade and cooked aldente. Delicious! Best pasta in Rome so far.

The service is awesome and the atmosphere is great. There seemed to be a number of locals, which is a great sign. I had the carbonara and, unfortunately, the eggs started to scramble. Carbonara is a tough dish to perfect but this one missed the mark. The best one I’ve every had, oddly, is found at il Vecchio in Monterey, CA. Italian owner and chef and they nail that dish. However, Osteria La Sol Fa was, overall, a great experience.

cheap and delicious small local owner who was very friendly. Pasta carbonara was exactly as I would like, al dente with just the slightest of creaminess that was not overwhelming. The rest of the meal was delicious. House wine which comes in 1L jars was very good. Lastly there Tiramisu, which they do their own rendition was out of this world. Normally I do not like when people take a traditional dish and make it foofoo with some out from left feel creativity that they think will be the next sistine chapel– but let me tell you that Tiramisu was a work from Michaelangelo
