Ah, l’Italie ! Ses monuments, son soleil… Mais non, on se fiche de tout ça, l’important c’est sa cuisine ! :D
A peine arrivés à Rome, c’est grâce au routard que nous trouvons ce charmant restaurant. Comme nous sommes en Italie, pas de souci pour trouver une table alors qu’il est plus de 22 heures. J’adore.
Nous avons chacun pris un plat de pâte en entrée et un plat principal. Tout était succulent ! Si vous avez du mal avec les pâtes al dente, évitez, parce que ce n’est pas ce dont on a l’habitude pas chez nous. Aucun doute sur la fraîcheur dans notre commande, tout était au top (boeuf, agneau, pâtes…).
Les pâtes à la carbonara avec pancetta (parfaitement croustillante) étaient salées juste comme il fallait et ma tagliata di manzo valait le détour aussi (adieu blanc-​bleu-​belge !).
Le cadre est amical et feutré, sympa aussi bien pour un repas de grande tablée qu’en couple.
Les serveurs étaient très aimables, bien que j’aie lu que les non-​italophones sont parfois négligés (mais le Guide du routard et TripAdvisor recommandent l’endroit, donc né craignez pas trop ça tout de même).
Résultat: on mange bien, on mange du vrai italien et pour un prix de resto normal (30 – 35 euros pour l’entrée, le plat et le vin).
Un sans faute pour nous, n’hésitez pas à allez y faire un tour, ce n’est pas tout près du centre, mais vous né serez pas déçus !

It’s fun to get out of the city center and only hear Italian spoken around you. We chose this restaurant after seeing the people waiting to get in the night before. We had an interesting pumpkin starter with crunchy bacon that was seasonal, new and delicious. My carbonara was plate licking good but the dessert was the best we had during our week in Rome. The house made licorice gelato was scrumptious! Great price, atmosphere and food.

I cannot speak to the food, drink or service here. We came at 21:30 on a Friday. The place was full, a great sign! We asked if there were any available tables. The answer was of course, no. All is cool at this point.
So, we asked when or if we could eat there. We were told no, because they closed at 22:00. That’s still ok, totally understandable. Well, upon getting home, we discovered that they close at 24:00. Not cool.
When we asked for a recommendation of a place nearby, they wouldn’t even give us one, as to not give a «bad» recommendation that would come back on them. Total BS! Clearly, they didn’t want us in their restaurant OR neighborhood!
I get it. We are American tourists, ‘invading’ your local spot, but holy h*ll, could you be neighborly and tell us where a reasonable spot to eat was?
We found our way to Ketumbar and had an absolutely lovely meal, great service, and live lounge/​jazz singing in the adjoining room. Don’t waste your time here. Especially if you are not Italian.
