I went there with my friend and the service was good. Everyone was welcoming. I had amazing bruschette with garlic and tomato that I strongly recommand. That tomato noodles with mozzarella was very good too. I will definitely come back !

Great Italian menu. My go to restaurant in the Colosseum area. Friendly service, good fair prices. And did I say the food is great.

After a recommendation to visit Naumachia from Nunzio in Collingswood New Jersey we did and I am so happy we did. Great location just a few minutes walk from Coliseum. We were welcomed at the door immediately and sat at a table for two in the front of the restaurant. Our server, Davido, was excellent and suggested fresh gnocchi with clams for my wife and I had a seafood pasta… deeeelicious. Our dessert was a creamy light dessert with chocolate drizzled over it and a strawberry sliced on top. House red was quite good too. Great experience from very pleasant staff.

Average place, not extremely overpriced nor tasty food. AirBnB host have recommended this place but did not meet the expectations. Would not recommend cause you can find better food cheaper but if you are in the neighborhood and want medium tasting food for a reasonable price and in a AC environment– why not.

My friend recommended that I try eating here. The pizza is delicious. Perfect amount of sauce in the pizza and was very well cooked. Can’t wait for my next trip to Rome so I can come back. Enjoy!

Mediocre. Bruschetta and a prosciutto platter were good. Pizza was ok, though crust wasn’t crisp. Pastas weren’t good. My friend and I ordered two dishes that contained the same variety of noodle — yet hers was al dente and mine was limp and over cooked. Neither sauce was very good. Service was inattentive.

this is a decent Italian restaurant in an extremely touristy area of Rome. Most pasta dishes are great but slightly salty and pizza is the best.

So glad we found this place! We had previously went to Pizza Luzzi next door, and decided to head back to that area to try to something else — this place was around the corner. Only a few of the waiters speak english, so a few times they had to come over to help us. «Lazy» fresh made lasagna was to die for as an appetizer. I had the seafood risotto, which was good and what I thought it would taste like. My husband loved his balsamic steak. We were seated near the dessert prep station and saw all the amazing items coming out. We wanted dessert soooo badly but couldn’t find the space. The guy gave us a little spoonful sample of their fresh chantilly cream(like pudding) and it hit the spot.

We found this place because it was close to the apartment we were staying in. It is relatively near to the colosseum but I don’t feel like this direct area is very touristy. It’s reasonably priced, service is good and the food is fantastic! We had the fried risotto and mozzarella balls, two different pizzas, ricotta with honey, fettuccine, steak with olive oil and balsamic vinegar(for the record we ate here twice before I wrote this review). Everything was lovely. The ambience is nice and we were able to sit next to the window, which was open and gave us a pleasant breeze. This was priced really well especially for the quality. My husband commented he wished there were more restaurants like this close to us.

So this place was recommended by a friend of the family. At first I was a bit hesitant, because I had been to rome a few times and hadn’t heard of this place. This is one of my new favorite resturants in rome. They had a superb seafood pasta with clams and shrimp that was incredible. There house wine was decent for a house wine. We also had their red meet pasta, which had a nice spicy kick to it which made it incedible. I would definitely make this a stop if you are in rome, by the colosseum, looking for a good meal

Our last night in Rome and we found the best restaurant of the vacation right around the corner from our hotel. Perfect from appetizers to dessert. Attractive interior, not shabby but not so high brow that it was stuffy feeling. Extremely friendly welcoming staff that knows enough English to make ordering easy. Menu in English as well too though. Good bread, fresh pasta, delicious fishes, and a tiramisu to die for! Truly a wonderful evening and couldn’t ask for more for our«final supper». After reading other reviewers I’m glad we tried it without reading the reviews because I feel like I ate at a differnt restaurant. Maybe we just got lucky and ordered the right things? There were 8 of us and other than my so not being crazy about the thin pizza(which is everywhere in rome) we all loved our dinners from gnocchi to fish, to calamari and shrimp and just plain pasta. I found it the least touristy of all the rome restaurants we tried.

this place was close to our apartment and our host recommended it for its pizza. the pizza was delicious and the salad too. what we didn’t appreciate was the unfriendly service. if you can tolerate that go for it, their pizza is very good.

This spot is recommended by my son, who lives in the area. The people there are great, and the food fresh and delicious. Though it’s location is very close to the colosseum, it’s a quiet non touristy place. Anything you order should be delicious !

We just arrived in Roma and this was our first meal, just a short walk from our apartment. We were the first lunch customers at noon, but then the steady stream of patrons came. Service was a bit unfriendly, but it was fast and efficient. The pizza and pasta were simply amazing. And the dessert with white and chocolate sauce over pastries and fruits(forgot the name) was incredible.

When we were in Rome some time ago, we ate here twice. And we certainly did enjoy our meal. Especially the pasta all’amatriciana and the panna cotta with berries were delicious. Many locals as well as tourists have found their way to the restaurant. Good service. Friendly atmosphere, waiters remain friendly even when the restaurant is crowded. The restaurant is near the Collosseo. I’ll be back…

When we arrived in Rome we were exhausted so we found our hotel, which was near the Colloseo and took a nap. Upon awakening we were starving and it was way past room service hours so we went for a walk. That’s how we stumbled upon this gem. It was packed with locals, but we were seated promptly, our order was taken with a great smile and rapidly. This occurred every single time we went back throughout our stay in Rome. The food ranged from ‘ok’ to ‘fantastic’, but their service was always on the ball. Even offering complimentary aperitifs and dessert. Their pizza and tiramisu were especially good and I would recommend to all. Overall, I’d recommend this place to anyone in the area. Some nights were more touristy than others, but they are open late and welcome all.

Tourist Trap. Wanted to eat where locals eat. Seated in basement(that was okay) but then saw a bus load of Asian tourists get seated with us(we’re Asian too) but not where locals eat. Food and service poor.

Absolute proof that all food in Italy is not good. The food fails here. Even the most simple item, bruschetta, was bland and mushy. I stupidly ordered the octopus salad and I could not identify the food I was served. It in no way resembled octopus. It was so gross. I had one bite and was done. In fact, the only reason this restaurant doesn’t get one star is that the waiter didn’t charge me for it. The pasta was starchy and bland. The tomato salad was served in a mixing bowl and was just quartered tomatoes, nothing else. It seemed they went out of their way to make the food and the presentation bad. My suggestion is to stay away and eat anywhere else.

It’s a few blocks away from the Colosseum. They proudly advertise«air conditioning» on the sign. The wine list has merlot on it. I knew what we were getting into, but the options in the area aren’t great. The biggest draw here is a very nice atmosphere and pleasant servers who aren’t irritated by tourists. Because, indeed, this is a touristy restaurant. I ordered«Pasta Naumachia» which was described as a sausage ragu. What I received was(I swear to God) the sauce/meatballs from Chef Boyardee’s Sphaghetti O’s over linguine. It tasted exactly the same! What cracked me up was one of my friends sampling it, declaring it delicious and searching for a similar dish in vain on other menus. I don’t have the heart to tell her she can recreate it at home for .59 a can.
