The worst food we ate in Italy. Bad pastas. Horrible mixed grill. Bad fried breaded fish cubes that came with one of the appetizers. The fried artichokes were eatable but not good. Stale salads, all vegetables were old and dry. The small cut vegetable salad was tasteless with pale vegetables. The next day we flew back and the airline food was much better. How could this restaurant get good reviews when all dishes were exceptionally bad. We obviously skipped the desert. The service was bad as well. The waiter collected half full plates(since we cannot finish anything) without even asking if there was an issue.

The waiter asked if we wanted bread. We said no. Still, we were charged for it. Nevertheless, it was probably the tastiest thing we paid for

Came here just for the legendary fried Artichokes and they didn’t disappoint ! A little disappointed that the only vegetarian meals were in the starters/Antipasti, everything else on the menu was either with meat or fish. I just ended up having starters and sides as a meal… fried artichokes, fresh spinach, Artichoke salad and some fried potatoes with rosemary. Very tasty ! A bit pricey, but worth it.

We cannot fail to visit this restaurant, at least for lunch, when in Rome even for 2 – 3 days. The main attraction on the menu for us are the«Carciofi alla Giudia»(Jewish style artichokes) «Baccala Filletti»(fried Cod Filets). We always order two servings of these as they are the best we’ve had in Rome & not too many restaurants in US have these on the menu. My wife is Jewish and I am of Italian decent and have ordered pasta here, delicious, but be warned, as it is a Kosher restaurant… NOCHEESE !!! Fortunately, too, one can get a decent red or white wine, not the cherry soda Mogen David type. Wait staff speaks English and friendly and the owner, Leonaro. an older fellow like myself was extremely personably & appreciated that we said we prefer his restaurant to all the others in the Ghetto. Try it, You’ll Like it !!!

Probably not the greatest food to be found in Rome, but as we visited in low season it was not a tourist trap either. However, our waiter was a trip — he made sure we knew that«Italians do it better» and his excellent command of English magically disappeared when the table of 8 next to us requested separate checks. We did have a very good dinner here, specifically polpettes in white wine sauce. FYI — the ladies room is WAY in the back, down the stairs. And the the toilet seat was NEXT to the toilet… ok… All in all, we were happy with dinner and would go back.
