Solid Korean food the way Koreans like it. The nangmyung was great and so was kalbi and soon tofu gige. We are from LA and so we know good Korean food and this place was solid.

I’m a Chinese who lives in San Francisco. I can’t say if the food here is 100% authentic(since I’m not a Korean), but it was definitely delicious to my Asian taste. I was traveling with my parents in Italy for the 10th day, and 10 days of pizza and pasta had made them dying for some Asian food. With the previous reviews on Unilocal in my mind, I did not expect such good food. We had the grilled pork cooked in the kitchen, tofu stew, steamed dumplings and bibimbap, and everything was so good that we ate them all. It was a little pricy compare to the Korean restaurants in SF, but it was worth the money.

I-Gio might want to consider changing their name to «Aigoo,» in the context of displeasure(if you’re Korean or have Korean speaking friends, you know exactly what this phrase means). BUT… I’ll be nice to I-Gio. I will take into account that this restaurant is located in Rome… Therefore I am giving Aigoo — oops, I mean I-Gio — two stars. So where to begin? Yes — This place is buzzing with Koreans(all tourists). In fact, there was a busload of people from Jeju island that showed up(easy to spot because they speak with a funny accent). However, just because this restaurant is packed with Korean tourists does not make it a good Korean restaurant. The only reason why they come here is because there are only four options in all of Rome. Long story short, the banchan is extremely bland. Definitely the worst I’ve EVER had(note that I grew up on Korean food and have eaten at countless Korean restaurants). Also, with the tasteless«tasting» menu, they served some Thai-inspired roll(think basil roll minus the basil — they used spinach instead) with a peanut dipping sauce. No reputable Korean restaurant would ever serve something like that.

I-Gio is probably the worst Korean restaurant I have been to. I am giving two stars instead of one because of its interior and waiter service. I ordered hot-stone bibimbap which was very dissapointing. It didn’t have enough vegetables or bulgogi for one person, and the flavor was probably the worst I’ve ever had. My friend had naeng-myun which was probably a combination of cheap powdered broth and low-quality noodles. The total bill came out to be 32 Euros, and the owner declined to split the bill because of credit card fees. He even said 32 Euros is too small to split. I was surprised by his audacity to say such a thing. Rome has some other good Korean places for dining. But, I would recommend to avoid this place at all costs whether you live in Rome or are a tourist.

I’m no expert on Korean food, but I liked the food here. The place was teeming with Koreans, which I take to be a good sign.

One of the best places to get foreign cuisine in Rome. You know it’s good when you dine around Koreans at Korean BBQ! I was very happy to sit around authentic people eating close-to-authentic food. Eating Italian gets boring from time to time, and I was craving a change. I-Gio doesn’t have the tacky«Asian» feel that most places in Italy manage to put together. The place itself looks clean and the service is excellent. I came here with my sister and the menu, although a picture menu, gave us everything we wanted. We ordered the«Plan A» set menu which had great bibimbap and galbi. After 5 courses of food, we were happy and stuffed(so were our wallets). The food was a little oily, but enough so that a side of white rice could cut it back. After all, we are in Italy, so compared to any other«Asian» restaurant it is many times better. I look forward to my next dining experience here and definitely recommend I-Gio.
