This hotel would rank only 1 star if it weren’t for them fulfilling our request to have a room with a balcony. The room was adequate size but the bathtub is sideways, rather than having the shower spray go down the length of the tub it goes from one side to the other. This makes it hard to shower as there isn’t much room– even for my slim wife. The TV was very small and, FYI, the only station in English is via pop music videos. Also, the room was in very poor repair. There is no rooftop restaurant, as is advertised, there is a breakfast on the 1st floor and the restaurant had been closed. Our room was on the 4th floor(as are all with balconies) and the elevator was broken 5 out of 7 days. One day there was ongoing arguments between the clerk and a woman that got VERY loud. There is Wifi, BUT it is only usable in the lobby area and sometimes on the first floor stairway/dining areas(remember, no restaurant). Also, this is in a depressed area of Rome and there are many persons sleeping on the sidewalks at night. I almost didn’t include this but-we were informed by our driver that the area is known as «Chinatown». Nearly all of the businesses were run by Asians so this is not a traditional Italian area. Now…there are many interesting areas to visit around here but in my attempt to be close to the Colosseum while saving a few Euros I missed the romantic mark a bit. Good thing my wife was so happy with her trip!
