Great place that is very close to the colosseum. Very nice family owned service and we found them to be very friendly and attentive. The food was some of the best I had in Rome. We both had Veal dishes and they were very delicious. The potato and salad was also very good. We finished dinner with some excellent tiramisu and Limoncello. Don’t miss this one.

Didn’t even get to sit down. We asked for a table, and was told to wait while the waiters ran back and forth, ignoring us. They weren’t even that busy! The outside area was mostly full, but lots of empty tables inside. After about 10 minutes of being ignored we gave up and went next door, where the guy was waving at us towards an empty table.

Afraid I have to take exception to the others’ rave experiences here. May be because I made the mistake of ordering ‘off the menu’ — I wanted to try their version of the simple, local, basic, ‘Cacio E Pepe’ dish. I really like that when it is done right. Here, don’t bother. The worst version I’ve had. It was bereft of any sheep’s milk cheese(Indeed, almost sans any cheese at all — and this is basically a pasta, cheese pepper dish) and… shame of shame, overcooked pasta(spaghetti, no attempt at originality here). Nothing here seems cooked to order — our dishes were in front of us as our butts were settling in, basically. The grilled veggie appetizer was very well done, a generous assortment. The chicken was pretty good — hey, itsa piece o’ chicken. Nothin’ with it on the plate. Noticed a half-dozen German tourists practically be told ‘you want the lasagna’. It was in front of them in 22 seconds. This is basically a no-nonsense, no-frills spot conveniently located for a mezza-mezza quick-quick bite.

Best place for a lunch after hanging around the Colosseum.(about two blocks away) This place is on Steve Rick’s Guide… so you know it is good. We actually came here because a couple who was in our tour recommended it and we decided to have lunch with them. Well we were glad we did because it was a great lunch! I would recommend not even bothering with the menu. Just order their house wine and go inside to their buffet style tables and grab a plate! It is not like all you can eat. You basically get what you want and they charge you for how many veggies/meats(trust me this is probably the most inexpensive lunch place around). There were so many options: Sausages, meatballs, veggies, stuffed mushrooms, eggplant etc. Many options for Vegetarians and meat lovers! By the end of our lunch we were given a free shot of Lemoncello(whoooo was it strong!!!) Once our bill came we realized we ate very good for the price.

Great little place near the Colosseum. I highly recommend it after a hard day of touring Roma.

good place overall for a several-course meal especially pasta and meat, ask them what their specialties are and get what the waiters like
