Grom

Really disappointing. Tried two flavors, toroncino and dark chocolate. The former had a grainy texture, no smoothness or creamyness, while the latter contained chocolate chips which have no place in ice cream (imo). There’s much better gelato to be had in Rome, so skip Grom.

The pistachio and yogurt flavors were my favorite. They let you add toppings on top, and I opted for hazelnut pieces, which were delicious!

My second favorite gelato shop in Italy! Love that Grom and Venchi are found throughout the country. Grom just like Venchi is ultra mod with an extensive gelato and sorbet menu. I decided to share with him a Crème di Grom. This is their version of cookies and cream. Sweet pastry cream, mixed with cookie biscuit pieces and small chocolate chips.
Venchi and Grom, can you open up shop in SF please? We don’t got no bomb gelato unfortunately. I promise I’ll give you all my business as opposed to Bi-​Rite if you do! Debated whether or not to go with a 4.5 rounded down or up, as I gave my favorite, Venchi 5 stars, but I’m rounding up because their gelato is still amazing and you can’t get it quite like this back home! Grazie Grom!

Gelato in Italia is something I will never forget. From has wonderful choices and great service. Pistachio, and chocolate are my favorite combo. I also had the raspberry and limn sorbet which was very refreshing. La Dolce Vita. My taste for food has permanently changed since my trip to Italia!

De bonnes glaces, dans un quartier très sympa. Les glaces sont de bonne taille, mais le prix reste un peu élevé.
Le service est peu lent mais ça en vaut quand même le détour.
Les parfums sont très bien.
Je recommande à la fraise.

This place has the most expensive and best tasting pistachio gelato I have ever tried.

Solid gelato chain, though locals may wince if you tell them you went here (everyone has their own favourite spot). I combined lemon with salted caramel and it was amaaazing. Lemon and caramel: Why don’t more people do this?!

A small little gelato shop (as most are lol) in the Nevona Square. It is classy, clean, and delicious. There aren’t very many flavors, as there are with the majority of gelato shops, but there really doesn’t need to be when what you offer is of such high quality. I ordered chocolate and coffee (my new favorite combination) on a cone. It really was perfection.
I do wish the menu had some English translations to help the tourists, but hey, what better way to practice a new language than by ordering gelato from a cute Italian man?

If you are in and around the Piazza Navona area, this is never a bad place to stop for some gelato. If you come at off times, the line is not too long, but you can only imagine how long it is during the summertime months. Overall, the flavors are excellent. They have a small selection of gelato and sorbet flavors, but all are very creamy and good.
I was just hoping for more variety when I popped into this one, but I would recommend the Hazelnut, Pistachio or Cannolo if they have it if you are in the mood for some authentic Italian flavors. The server was friendly and the prices were all reasonable so I am sure I will be back if I am looking for some dessert in and around the area.
Be sure to walk around the area too as it is very beautiful and historic.

It was amazing! It has various flavours, the staff is helpful (we visited more than one and everyone spoke English) and when we finished, we wanted more. They also have convenient locations and, so delicious!!!

The flavors were very good, but like most gelato shops in Rome, it is expensive. Plus the scoops they give you are very small. It may have been the person working, but it was tiny. I crushed it in 5 minutes. Record speed. Still, I give it Four stars because the pistachio had lovely bits mixed into it. Good flavor.

This place has the best gelati i found in Rome. As someone else said, many places are great, but this is simply the best most likely because of its dedication to fresh ingredients.

First, I would like to state that during our time in Italy we sampled quite a few different types of gelato. I am not talking about one place a day, more like three… so you, and my waistline, now know what I’m talking about.
I can say that during our stay the highest quality, best tasting gelato had to have been from Grom. Don’t get me wrong, your average Italian gelato establishment is good. But what sets Grom apart from the rest is the commitment to quality, natural ingredients… a quality that shines through in the amazing taste. I mean, actual vanilla specs in the vanilla gelato? MADNESS!!!
And once you have sampled vanilla and feel a need to move on from the gateway drug, do try my personal favorite: salted carmel. I would go into further depth describing said flavor but as there may be children present reading this very mediocre review, all I will say is that it is very very good.

Grom… Meiner Meinung nach das Beste Eis in Rom! Die vielen verschiedenen Sorten, die je nach Monat und Jahreszeit wechseln, sind alle Super lecker! Die Kekse und Sorbets sind auch super lecker. Die Sahne ist natürlich wie immer die Krönung und anders als in anderen Eisdielen kommt sie nicht aus Automaten, sondern ist selbstgemacht. Wie das immer freundliche Personal das Eis kunstvoll auf der Waffel drapiert macht die Vorfreude auf das Eis nur noch größer. Wenn ich, gebürtige Deutsche lebend in Rom, Besuch habe, ist Grom die erste Station und alle sind begeistert! Grom ist also nur weiterzuempfehlen und das Gute ist auch das es in Rom gleich mehrere Filialen gibt, eine am Pantheon, eine an der Piazza Navona und eine am Campo Dei Fiori!
Ich hoffe viele von euch werden das Eis dieser Sensationellen Gelateria ausprobieren!

Le marco 2* porque no he probado toda la variedad desabores ni de opciones que ofrece. Puedo hablar del sabor de limón, está bueno pero no es refrescante, tiene un deje final empalagoso que te impide tragar saliba que ya he notado en otras heladerías y es debido a unos polvos que les echan a la mezcla.
He probado mejores sabores a limón, en ese soy una experta.
Ahora, seguro que otros sabores están buenisimos… con un cucurucho de almendra que he visto. Hay que seguir probando!

It’s a chain but really not too bad. The pistachio is my favorite. Smooth with a deep woody taste.

Great gelato and granita. The vanilla gelato tasted like a vanilla ice cream cone from a Mister Softee truck (which I love). The texture was very soft and creamy and tasted amazing. It brought me back to childhood. I had the pomegranate and almond granitas separately, and they were both delicious. Had I discovered it earlier, I’d probably go there much more. It’s a small place but the line does go out the door.

Oh my God, this gelato is AMAZING!!! On my most recent trip to Italy, I went to Grom about 6 different times and tried all sorts of different flavors. By far the best are the Vanilla (SO creamy and flavorful), the Coffee (tastes like creamy frozen espresso), and the Coconut (with dark chocolate chips). Oh man, I’m drooling just writing this review right now.
The friendly employees mix up the gelato fresh in the ‘gelato laboratory’ in the back room (you can watch them if you are lucky). They give generous scoops and you get up to 2 flavors in the smallest size. The smallest cup /​cone costs about 2 Euros. You can get your gelato in either a cup or a cone. They also had additions like whipped cream and wafer cookies if you wanted to add that on. Watch out because the line will most likely be out the door with locals waiting their turn for a sweet treat and it moves slowly. You have to pay first at the register then tell the scooper what you want.
Grom uses fresh and «real» ingredients so the flavors really shine through. My husband isn’t a huge fan of this place but I am absolutely bonkers for it. The gelato here tastes so fresh, homemade and unprocessed and that really lets the natural flavors shine through.
The menu is in Italian only so it’s best to brush up on your food words if you speak a different language. Or you can be adventurous and just order whatever and see what you get! I did that once and it was fun. All of the flavors I tried were phenomenal, strong and yummy. This is a gourmand’s ice cream Heaven.

Sample to your heart’s content until you figure out your favorite flavor. It’s just too good to be true that it’s located in the heart of Piazza Navona. A perfect place to stroll and watch the street artists while enjoying your gelato on a warm day.

As the other reviewer was, I was also surprised that Grom was a chain, I didn’t realize it until I saw their card. But it didn’t really matter, match it up with a smaller mom n’ pop gelato shop, just as good. There were many delicious flavors, so I decided to go for the hazelnut, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I think when I got this gelato was the moment I realized that I WAS IN ROME. Just sitting by the fountain in the Piazza, it was just. Magical. The artists, the cafes, and just people leisurely walking by without a care in the world. Such a blessed feeling. Sorry, tangent.
I would DEFINITELY recommend Grom to my friends. But in particular, I would recommend this one, not that the other Groms were bad, I’ve tried two other Groms (one in Venice and another Rome location) and they were just as good. If you’re looking for a Grom in Rome, this is a nice spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of tourist life =]
[Not to end on the sour note, but don’t try the apple gelato. Just don’t.]

This is where I first fell in love with the Crema Di Grom. It is absolutely the best flavor on earth. When I came here, I had no idea it was a huge chain, you wouldn’t get that feel from being there. The staff here is so friendly and there is a clean bathroom.
I stumbled upon the flavor as I was sampling and have never gone back. You really can taste the difference from other Gelato places and I highly recommend you try this place.
