Great food and nice waiters. My study abroad group and I went here a number of times while we lived in Rome and we always had a good time. The food and wine are delicious and the atmosphere is nice as well.

We stumbled upon this place as we got off the metro to walk to Trevi Fountain. We got lured in by the English speaking Italian, he must have seen the hunger in our eyes bc we were on the prowl for a lunch spot. The food was excellent! I got the fettuccine Bolognese, the pasta was fresh and bouncy, cooked al dente. The sauce was rich and semi– meaty. I liked how they gave us a side of Parmesan cheese so I could sprinkle my heart away on my pasta. We also got the beef slices with mushrooms and truffle oil(forgot the name of the dish). This plate was amazing! It came with grilled eggplant and zucchini, a fresh tomato, and then the meat. Everything was well cooked and the meat was perfect. The truffle oil went great with the beef. The food was excellent, but the service was slow. We had to ask for our bread(I think this is automatic in Italy?), we asked for plates for the bread, and we asked 3x for our check. Very touristy spot, but good food overall.

We honestly only stopped in Entoeca Barbernini because a) my feet were hurting and b) we needed wifi so we could figure out which direction to walk in next. The large open front drew us in and we found a table quickly. You order drinks at the bar, but a small selection of snacks were dropped a the table by the friendly waiters. Everyone serving was really friendly and seemed to get along with each other, including taking the piss out of each other’s flowery jackets… There’s not much more to report on this occasion other than how amazing their wifi connection is. So, a good stop for us when we needed to see a more detailed map, and I can imagine we would have spent a lot longer here if we didn’t have somewhere else to be!

Would like to give this place 3.5 stars. Ate here after wandering in the rain for hours to see bits of Rome. Wine was decent, especially for happy hour. We shared a salad(love the pasta and breads but seriously needed a fresh vegetable!) and a margharita pizza(wasn’t as good as I’d hoped) with cappuccino and espresso afterwards(biscotti included was yummy!). Service was a little poor for my liking.

Charge me 15% tip? Seriously? 15% in Europe? Who is culturally ignorant? Read the reviews on tripadvisor, this is a tourist trap, so DONOTGO! The food was absolutely mediocre at its best. Yeah they spoke English and there was music, but I would rather not ever go to this place ever again.

Had the lobster catalana. It was decent, but nothing spectacular. The sauce was lightly salted with very subtle flavor of the sea. The lobster did not taste fishy, but it was not fresh either. It was, however, a bit too chewy. What’s nice is that they already had cracked the lobster and taken out the meat for you. No mess there. Service was bad, and waiters often forget about your order, check, etc. Although they do have live upbeat music at night, creating an upbeat environment. Keep in mind this is a bar, lots of drinking and mingling, don’t expext any romanticness here. Nothing really pop out about this place, seems like any other bar with inflated tourist price.

(American review) Great food and great drinks! We came on a Sunday night and they had great live music. If the front patio is crowded and if you prefer to sit outside, don’t worry, they have another patio out back in a nice, quaint alley where you can still hear the music. We ordered beef with cheese and balsamic as our main course and it was great. Our first course was a pasta that was also terrific. I’m very glad we happened across this place!(Also, very close to barberini metro stop!)

After using Unilocal to find a spot that was open nearby, only to find out it was closed, we ended up just heading in to Enoteca Barberini. Service was helpful and their English was molto bene — which is great since our Italian collectively sucks. What else sucks? The food. I legitimately had the worst dish I have ever paid for in a restaurant here(the steak with mushrooms and arugula). The mushrooms tasted odd and bland and had a texture like they had been rehydrated. The steak was okay, but not at all great. My salad to start was better, but the pears in it were hard and flavorless. The arrabiatta was so spicy that it was best to wait a few minutes between bites for the fire in your mouth to subside. The winner for me was the oxtail pasta. The pasta was chewy, thick, al dente goodness, and the oxtail sauce was very good, though too salty and greasy to be a serious standout. Drinks were tasty at least.

Love this place. Hesitant to come in at first since it is near all the tourist traps. A previous Unilocal guest said they don’t take credit cards, but they do. Great wine, amazing food and excellent service.

this place has a great mixed drink/cocktail menu. Vibe is a bit touristy, but its not overly so and the food is decent. We came here twice on our trip to Rome because we loved that they had so many choices for drinks. Live music was a plus!

Came here for dinner on our last night in Rome. It was a good ending to the trip. The restaurant is certainly a little touristy — that can be expected given its location. Of course, that means prices are a little higher than they should be too — but it wasn’t too outrageous. Service was friendly and helpful, but a little slow — it took about 10 – 15 minutes before anyone even greeted us, but after that, it picked up a bit. The food was all pretty good. Nothing mind blowing, but still, enjoyable. Wine selection was fairly extensive and reasonably priced. About halfway through the meal, they started playing live music — it wasn’t spectacular, but it was definitely better than the Katy Perry they had been playing before that. I tell ya, nothing screams Rome like Katy Perry and Lorde! It wasn’t perfect here, but we had a good meal at a decent price within a couple of blocks of our hotel. Can’t complain about that.

Ate here before leaving Rome, food was ok and so was the service. We were not told until after our meal that they did not take credit cards so we had to go to ATM and incur the withdrawal fees. Normally we would have the cash but we were leaving the next day. I would agree that the food was overpriced as nothing was unique, the same food you could get at any tourist café anywhere in Rome.

Not bad food or service, though their prices are a little bit high, probably owing to the fact that their customer base are all tourists.

Gnocchi Roman Style, this means gnocchi in a four cheese tomato sauce was great! Also had a margherita pizza pretty good. Paid 22 euro for this meal which is okay. Only downer as per all Rome«we don’t offer tap water.» The host offered many witty comments such as «West coast is the best coast» after finding out we’re from San Francisco.

Nul !

Know this place is geared towards out of towners, but there was good mix of locals amidst the British us we Americans. The atmosphere is a little loud, but fun. Good wine selection. Food was delicious. We had four cheese gnocchi, pizza with prosciutto and spicy salami, rigatoni carbonarra, and spinach/sage ravioli. Bruschetta to start. I started out with a four for the food and atmosphere. The reason for the five rating is the service. Our server was Olsi. He was unbelievably friendly and funny. Shook our hands, which means a lot and asked our names. Spoke English very well. We would go back simply to have him serve us. Even if you just go for drinks/wine, it is worth a try.

¿dónde salen a beber? Preguntamos a unos amigos y… ¡no supieron respondernos!

To be honest, I don’t want to like a place that’s so clearly marketed towards tourists, but I really do love Enoteca Barberini for a quick drink. This was actually my second time here, the first time of which I was led by a drunken group of Americans that I happened to meet after a Greek man inadvertently led me into a subterranean nightclub with exotic dancers(It’s all very complicated; you can ask me about it later). The two things I love most about this place are the service and the live music. Simone, in particular, is an incredibly friendly bartender, and always seems to have a smile on his face. The jazz trio is a bunch of fun, even playing the theme to Super Mario Bros. during my last visit. They offer a full bar and a list of wines by the glass starting from 4 €(I did not like the 4 € wine, but the others were tasty). I’m not sure how much cocktails cost, and I don’t want to know the price for food. Stick to wine if you’re on a budget and it’s an affordable option near Piazza Barberini.
