I enjoyed eating at this restaurant, the service was great! I would recommend it if you’re trying to escape the tourist traps and want to go somewhere locals go. If the locals are there, you know it’s got to be good! I had a mixed salad and the grilled shrimp. I didn’t find what I ate was that great, considering the shrimp came with the shell and didn’t taste like much. But the thing that I love the most, was the almond cookies they gave us with our tea/coffee. That must have been the best almond cookie I have ever had!

Confused by the 5 star review was just decent nothing special. Our appetizer which was on the hot appetizer was tepid, I had the creamy shrimp risotto not sure if it that’s Italian style but just got a single shrimp head. My sister got the lobster linguine food was ok but too salty. Not bad but not great.

After unwittingly thwarting my fiancé’s attempted proposal in Venice, we made reservations here for our last night in Italy, mostly due to other’s Unilocal reviews, and the fact that they took reservations online(which prevented us from having to try to speak Italian on the phone). What a pleasant surprise, this is easily the best meal we had in Italy, and one of the best that we’ve had EVER… The owner quickly ascertained that we were not native Italian speakers, and asked if we’d prefer a waiter who spoke English or Spanish. We picked Spanish, and Alberto quickly came over to help us. We started off with a complimentary glass of prosecco and Sardinian flatbread with fresh tomatoes. Alberto recommended the seafood appetizer course menu for 25 euro — exhausted from our whirlwind week, we decided to take his recommendation and were treated to some of the freshest seafood we’ve had in a long time. They started us off with what seemed to be a Sardinian ceviche — very fresh fish marinated in a tart vinaigrette. That was quickly followed by a white fish poached in olive oil, thinly sliced salmon marinated in orange essence, a tuna tartare, fried calamari, mussels, an amazing Sardinian seafood lasagna, and then ended with a selection of raw seafood including prawns, blood clams, and oysters. Each dish at home would have easily cost what the entire assortment did. Every single dish was delicious. Following the seafood, we shared a canneroni with fresh fish. Neither my fiancé nor I are big pasta people, but it was also very good. We finished our meal with a beautiful salt crusted sea bass. Alberto brought out the whole fish for us to inspect, and then returned to the kitchen to filet and de-bone it for eating. It was served with grilled vegetables — despite having had the equivalent of a full meal, we finished every bite. For dessert, I definitely got a surprise, as the plate came out with«Would You Marry Me,» written on it. They paired that with their house made limoncello, and we also had a delicious Sardinian dessert wine. Alberto’s service was gracious, he steered us to the best of the menu and delicious, but reasonably priced wine. The owner and his wife(who is from Pittsburgh) are lovely. The restaurant isn’t the fanciest, nor the swankiest that we went to in Rome, but it was by far the best. Additionally, while by no means«cheap» — the meal we had(which was 140 euro for two) would have easily been $ 300-$ 400 where we live. Definitely worth a visit when in Rome.

Simply putting it. You are going to a Michelin restaurant with exceptional service, delicious foods, and scrumptious desserts for the price of a regular meal on a night out. I’m still smiling after receiving the check. I don’t normally write a review but I had to for Eleonora. If I had to compare this restaurant with regards to the food and service, it’s comparable to EMP in Manhattan, the décor was cute but nothing to rave about. As for the pricing to how delicious the food was, it beats any restaurants I have ever been to. Do yourself a favor and the ones you love and venture to this restaurant even if you have to train from Florence.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Must visit!!! Very welcoming and friendly staff and family style restaurant. The waiters were very intimately serving us with welcoming persecco(on the house) with small appetizers to start with. Waiter kindly recommended good and well priced white wines for our seafood appetizer course menu(which was $ 25 per person and it was totally worth it and had 8 different dishes including the cold raw shellfish dishes) we could not order the main menu even though there were so many seafood pastas and fish dishes we wanted to try. For the dessert, they kindly serviced with three different kinds of dessert alcohol(Grappa) with extra dessert cookies. I would definitely recommend this restaurant when you visit rome.

Had lunch here by luck, as usual I relied con Unilocalers to recommend something and found this place nearby which had very good reviews. And it was a very pleasant surprise! It is mostly a seafood restaurant but they have also very good meat dishes and vegetables as well! The salmon with truffle oil we had to start was out of this world. They welcome you with a complimentary glass of prosecco which is always awesome in my book!

This place was great. We went based on steller Unilocal reviews and it did not disappoint. First of all, the ambiance was lovely and casual, and the place was largely populated by locals, not mobbed by tourists. Meal started with a comp glass of prosecco and lovely flatbread and tomatoes, with awesome olive oil. Then we ordered the mixed antipasti, which was exceptional with multiple courses included lots of raw seafood(sea bass, salmon, shrimp, oyster, tuna) — each outstanding, each amazing. And the mussels and bread pudding-style pasta were an awesome way to cap off that course, which could have been a meal in and of itself. 2nd course was — for me — orrechiette with tomatoes and fresh shrimp and fantastic olive oil, but I was envious of my husband’s sea bass ravioli with light mint sauce(and there might have been some butter). The use of spices at this place really marvelous and often unexpected. There is nothing frou-frou but also nothing boring about Eleonora. We didn’t have room for dessert — stuffed — but the mini-jug of amaro they brought to our table was lovely, as were the gratis almond and fig cookies. White wine from sardinia with dinner was also very lovely and a fine complement to our fish dinners. Server was a jovial, hard-working man who put up with my kindergarten Italian with good humor. Top-to-bottom wonderful place.

We had dinner here for our Anniversary and our waiter who took care of us recommended the appetizer combination which came out in 3 different courses and was so much seafood we were ready to pop after just the appetizer. He also recommended a bottle of white wine that paired perfectly with our meal(it happened to be one of the cheapest bottles on the list, and he didn’t go straight for the most expensive bottle). Next came the main course, as we were stuffed from the appetizer we asked for a recommendation for dinner and he recommended the King Fish pasta and that we split it. Turns out it was the perfect portion size and nice and light so we could both finish it. We didn’t have room for dinner, but they brought these little liquors and some cookies for us on the house, which I think they do for every table. The liquors were very sweet and meant as deserts, one of which was limonocello and was delicious. All in all, this restaurant was great, and I highly recommend it. The staff are super friendly and know their trade and their menu and can help guide you to the right items. Best part all of the above was much cheaper than we anticipated for the sheer amount of seafood we ate, we could expect well over $ 100 in the US, and it was closer to $ 70.

The ravioli with mint sauce and the seafood stew were amazing. They have a nice selection of wine from sardinia. Gnocchi with salsiccia was fresh and delish

We came here for dinner on our 3rd night in Rome. We had spent the day at the Vatican, we were really tired, and looking for an amazing meal. My husband miraculously found this restaurant on TripAdvisor, and made reservations quickly. There was a crowd waiting outside of the restaurant waiting for it to open, and we joined the throngs of both locals and tourists, which was a welcome sight! The service here was exceptional — the servers all spoke English quite well, and we saw them hurrying around trying to make sure everyone who was seated was having a great time. One of the servers also started us with an excellent bottle of white Sardinian wine(which he recommended which was DELICIOUS). They started us off with complimentary prosecco and flat bread with fresh tomatoes. Amazing! We started with the mixed appetizer for one — which was more than enough for the both of us! I’m still kicking myself for not taking a picture of the sheer amount of food that came out for just this one order! It came with fresh shrimp, raw on a bed of ice which I LOVED, as well as a fresh oyster and clam, a variety of tartar(which was EXCELLENT), a savory bread pudding like dish, tiny fried octopus, and mussels. AMAZING. I could eat that every day! My husband and I were actually starting to get full just from that, but our meal was just getting started! We shared a pasta course — the linguini with lobster in a red sauce which they thoughtfully brought out on two plates. Perfectly cooked pasta and lobster. We also shared the seared tuna with aged Balsamic — it was delicious, but by then we were so full we left ¼ of it behind. For dessert my husband had the chocolate gelato, and I had the Chantilly cream with fresh crumbled pastry. It was heaven. I devoured it in record time — so fast my husband couldn’t even steal a bite! They also brought out some complementary liquors that my husband enjoyed. Honestly the best meal of our time in Italy! Worth every penny and more. They also called us a cab home which we really appreciated. Cannot wait to come back to Rome just to dine here again.

I’ve had the pleasure of working and travelling in Italy for some four weeks in September/October, including 2 weeks in Rome. This has enabled me to sample a wide number of restaurants and Elenora d’Arborea has been the best of the lot. I’ve visited this restaurant in the past during brief business trips and much enjoyed the experience. But after numerous visits this last month my esteem for the food here has been confirmed. On my most recent visit, I was joined by my wife and friends. They too concluded that Elenora was the best meal they had in their time in Italy. The experience begins with an always-cheerful greeting from Francesco, the maitre d’hotel. The dining room is elegant and well appointed. The staff is very congenial and provides efficient and courteous service. The cuisine, however, is what excels here, especially the seafood including a Sardinian specialty, raw fish: tuna and salmon tartare, sea bass carpaccio, very fresh Mediterranean shrimp(thin, delicate, and delicious served raw over a tray of ice). On the cooked side, the pastas are superb. I’m fond of their home-made pasta with porcini, and their linguine with lobster and pacino tomatoes. And their sea salt roasted sea bass is the best I’ve ever had. For dessert I can’t resist the beautifully presented Chantilly cream with crumbled puff pastry. But this restaurant has introduced me to a fabulous new world of wines: those from the vineyards of Sardinia. Being totally unfamiliar with Sardinian wines, I left the selection to my excellent server. The bianchi(white wine) he poured for us was exquisite, perhaps the finest Italian/Sardinian white I have tasted, better than those very fine Vernaccia’s I previously came across. But the real revelation was the rosso(red wine) he selected. Corash Cannonau di Sardegna surpassed the several very good Brunello’s, Barolo’s and Amarone’s I had discovered elsewhere on this trip. I took only two bottles of wine back to the US. Both were this inexpensive Sardinian gem. This restaurant is a 10 minute cab ride from the central tourist areas(i.e. Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc.). But it is more than worth the added time and 7 Euro cab fare.

Feel in love with this place. The food was amazing. The service was terrific! It started off with a glass of prosecco on the house. We did the hot/cold/raw appetizer, a sea bass and the sea urchin pasta. We were both stuffed by the end and barely finished the food. The dessert was a chocolate lava cake(though it says soufflé on the menu). To the end the meal, we were given a plate of cookies and 3 different types of alcohol on the house. Will def. go back there again

Saved this place for our last dinner out on a 2 week journey through Italy since the trip advisor reviews are so fantastic. And since we were staying fairly close to the place, didn’t have to taxi either, which is always a plus. It’s a very nice and chic restaurant, waiters are all dressed up. We arrived 10min before our reservation and the place was actually not even open yet! Stood outside for 5 min before they saw us peeking through the door window and let us in. The service was fantastic and I always appreciate a place that doesn’t try to «recommend» the most expensive things on the menu or more than you can eat. We were recommended a fabulous Sardinian white that was only 20-something euros, which was a lot cheaper than I was expecting. Oh man, the Sardinian flatbread with EVOO and tomatoes is amazing. Even more amazing that it’s the free bread course with unlimited refills. I think we got half full just on this stuff alone. It’s thinner than a crêpe but no crispy and delicious! We were looking at the mixed seafood appetizer and our waiter advised that we should split 1 portion among the 2 of us. Good call! This is literally a 6 course appetizer with raw seafood, baked seafood, fried seafood. By the end of this, we were 70% full. For entrees, we split the lobster pasta and the baked fish. The pasta was definitely fresh and you get a whole lobster for 15 euros!!!(unthinkable in the US). By the time the fish dish came, we were over 100% full but managed to stuff it down. I have to say it’s perhaps our least favorite dish of the night, which was unfortunate to end on. I think if it was cooked maybe 2 minutes less, it would have been perfect. So with the less than stellar fish dish and the fact that being 1 of the top rated restaurants in Rome, I again expected a mind blowing experience but it was just really really good, thus 4 stars it is! Regardless, I still recommend this restaurant to anyone(though maybe not to go way out of the way for…)

Because of its sterling reputation on TripAdvisor, two of us went well out of our way for a very fishy dinner here, accompanied by prosecco and a wondrous, dry little Sardinian red, which began with raw oysters, shrimp, razorshell and other clams, progressed to a second appetizer of steamed mussels in garlic, fried baby squid, seared tuna carpaccio, and another item or two I could not quite identify but which proved extremely delicious, commenced with enthusiasm to a primi of risotto with shrimp in a devilishly rich cream sauce, reached a climax with the delicately roasted sea bass, and resolved with a satisfied sigh to a crisp mandarin orange sorbetto and, of course, grappa. In the sort of restaurant that alone makes the whole trip worthwhile. Service was perfectly attentive without intruding, the recommendations were spot on, the seafood — oh, the seafood — as good as I’ve ever had, the atmosphere friendly but elegant. We needed an early dinner due to early departure the next day, so we arrived at eight to a nearly empty restaurant — three other couples. By nine, the place had filled up pretty well, and by the time we left at ten it was roaring nicely — I didn’t spot a single table that appeared to be tourists. Ourselves excepted, of course.
