This bakery, caffe, pasticceria, everything is great for so many occasions. A quick coffee on the way to work. A leisurely cornetto or cannolo in the morning. Picking up a couple little dessert treats on the way home. A fruit tart for a big gathering. It’s all done so well that I can’t help but go back again and again. The coffee bar is always crowded in the morning but it’s one of the great, fun experiences of the neighborhood, if not the city, to elbow your way up to the counter to make your order. I’m an American living in Monteverde for several months and Dolci Desideri is one of my favorite things about Rome. The coffee and daily pastries are pretty affordable, like you would find all over Rome, for a euro or less. The bigger tarts and cakes and so forth can get a bit pricey, but I think they’re generally worth it.
