The pizza was fresh and delicious, although warm but not hot. The panne tonne was beyond expectation. The café latte was good but not great. The place had a buzz and evidently appealed to a wide section of customers and had strong local support. The service was warm, attentive and personal. The one toilet was clean, but there were no hand towels and no toilet paper, and no lock on the door. In the 15 or so minutes I spent there I must have seen 25 customers served. The wide selection of fresh pizza, bought by weight according to how much you want to cut off, and the great selection of fresh pastries were clearly a pull. All in all the affordability, buzz and sense of good home cooking and baking shone through.

Everyone’s meal at the table was superb; high quality filet, delicious tuna burger, the best pizza we’ve had since we’ve lived in Rome, and a great appetizer platter with hummus, tzatziki, and avocado. Finished it off with yummy and rich coconut and chocolate cheesecake and apple pie with gelato. Only one server spoke fluent English but the others loved trying out the little they did know on us… The place started filling up with locals as soon as it opened up at 8 on a Friday(although the sign did say 6:30 so we had to entertain ourselves for few minutes in the gigantic grocery store because we arrived around 7:30). The prices were not cheap but definitely reasonable for quality, quantity, and location. Also the décor is amazingly cute and cozy. Will be back to try the strawberry key lime pie cheesecake and maybe a burger!
