Excellent and obviously under rated restaurant! My wife and I did a quick internet search for restaurants near our hotel in Rome and I discovered a couple of possibilities, all in the same three block radius. With my mostly fluent Italian in hand we headed out for a nice walking tour of the neighborhood with a goal of finding dinner. The first place on the list was a bit outside of both our comfort range and our price range. We were both wearing casual clothes and didn’t feel comfortable with the better dressed clientele. However, just a few doors down we saw a place that had covered sidewalk seating, nice table cloth-covered tables and a few guests. As with many eating establishments in Italy, the menu was positioned where passers-by could check out the offerings and the prices. A quick scan was enough to convince us that we were in the right place. After being seated, the waiter took our drink order of a bottle of Prosecco and water. These were quickly delivered to the table along with our menus. We were given a reasonable amount of time to sip the sparkling wine and scan the menu, then the waiter returned to ask if we had questions. After a short discussion regarding my low-sodium dietary needs we ordered. We each had a cheese-stuffed, batter-dipped zucchini flower, my wife followed that with house-made spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli while I had a pasta with seafood in tomato sauce. After we finished the ‘Primi Piatti’ we were brought our entrees. Brooke had an order of Scallopini al Limone, Veal Scallopini in a lemon sauce. I had a simple grilled steak that was delicious. All in all, this was the best meal we have had in Rome this trip.
