Corso 281

My husband was in touch with Vesna, Chiara, and Roberta way in advance of our stay and from his report, they were extremely helpful, efficient, and communicative. We had some hiccups to our stay but overall they did not detract from our overall impression. The driver we asked for to have an airport pickup did not show up but we were happy to take a cab at a fixed rate with no problem. When we arrived, we were shown into a beautiful suite that was facing the back away from the noisy street which was exactly what we asked for. It was the perfect spot as we had our baby daughter with us who is a light sleeper. Our one complaint with the room was a bunch of strange little flies in the sink of the bathroom when we walked in. The staff was very helpful in cleaning it all up immediately and assuring us that it was from the heat outdoors. They did not reappear for the duration of the stay. The room was cleaned immaculately each day with wonderful Bvlgari products in the bathrooms. We had several reservations that were quickly and easily made by the staff and they were extremely accommodating to the moving target of number of attendees to my birthday dinner. They also presented a delicious strawberry tart on my birthday! Overall, this was a wonderful stay and truly memorable. The location is excellent to buses but a bit further for trains. However, taxis are easily called and come quickly. Will return the next time we are in Rome!

Corso 281 is a small (15 rooms ?) luxury hotel in the heart of historical Rome.
Well located. Less than 10 minute walk to the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Forum, Campo de’ Fiori, and Plazza Navona. Not much further to the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain. No restaurant or bar in the hotel, but there are good restaurants reasonably close, and the Minerva hotel roof garden is a lovely bar about 5 minute walk away;
Our room had a separator dividing it into two areas so that for a jet lagged couple, one could sleep and the other munch on pizza or read or whatever. Great bathroom! The shower was beautiful.
The staff were all charming and helpful. A nice breakfast was served in the room. The last day, we had to leave for the airport at 5 a.m. Even then they fixed us a nice breakfast.
