Nous logions au coin de la rue, donc nous avons rapidement repéré ce resto, toujours rempli… Nous avons testé, nous avons adoré et nous y sommes retourné!
C’est vraiment un resto romain typique et familial. Les serveurs se houspillent en parlant fort, la mama veille au grain. La carte est bien fournie, comme les assiettes. Les viandes sont particulièrement bonnes. En revanche le vin maison est imbuvable, je vous conseille de prendre une bouteille!

I thought — ok, the menu outside looks good, I should come here one night for dinner. and so we did. We were hungry for risotto dishes and they had two that just hit the spot.
DRINKS:
I ordered a house white. It came with a nice jug/jar that had good portion. I am not complaining.
SERVICE:
it looked like it was short staffed. By the time we were ready to order desert, another waiter came and it speeded up the whole thing. They did forget our order of soup of the day but that’s ok. we had plenty of food.
DECOR/ATMOSPHERE:
we got there around 7:30. there were lots of tourists but then locals started to show up. really nice space with high ceilings.
PRICE:
Well priced I must say. We were happy with the prosciutto antipasti. that was the best we ordered. thick and melt in your mouth rather than dried up and pre-cut. But the veal chop was a disappointment. it was small and didn’t have much char or the flavor in it. I could have cooked a better one at home. I was torn b/w giving 3 or 4. based on the veal chop but everything else was great, so I am giving it a 4.

My friends and I had just arrived in Rome a few hours earlier, and were looking for somewhere to eat. We were wandering around the neighborhood where our airbnb place was, and stumbled upon Cannavota. The menu looked reasonable, so we decided, «why not». And we were so glad we decided to venture inside. Inside, you get a real homey feel from the staff, and the owner/server always seemed jolly. I’m not sure that they get many tourists, although they did have menus in different language. Seeing as this was our first meal in Italy, my friend and I knew we wanted some pasta dish. One friend and I ordered a pasta dish, while our other friend ordered a chicken dish. We also had the house white, and a bottle of water. We all loved our food, and the wine, and the ambiance of the restaurant. It seemed like it was mainly locals there, so that was always a plus in our books. The wine was also pretty good, and we even opted for a tiramisu, which was delicious. At the end of the meal, after we saw the bill, we were in shock at how reasonably priced everything was. The wine was super cheap (compared to our NY standards), as was the food. They even accepted credit cards! This meal definitely set the bar high for the rest of our meals in Italy.
