Bianco’s Vespette e Forchette

Perfect spot for our last meal in Italy… The vegetarian tag attracted my wife, but this place serves plenty of meat dishes.
The food is on par with other spots around, but it gets 5 stars because the owner turned down a rowdy group of 6 – 8 guys that just wanted drinks. On a slow day, that’s a hard thing for an owner to do, but I (and the rest of the patrons) really appreciated it! There’s plenty of bars and we may join that crew later tonight (they looked like a fun crowd!), but for lunch, it’s nice to enjoy soft talk and good food.

Pasta was amazing, drinks were fantastic. They gave mini appetizers free with the meal (olives, bread, fried pizza dough) which was an added bonus. Very nice place to stop in and rest after the Vatican museum. Relaxed attitude and friendly wait staff. Recommended for anyone wanting a good meal outside the Vatican.

This is a great spot right next to the Vatican. Good prices on pasta and generous with the free apatizers (olives and dumplings). The tiramisu is fantastic. My new wife and I gobbled it up!

My parents went here during their vacation last week. Since they are not internet savvy they asked me to note their review for them. They have not stopped raving about Bianco’s. Great food! Stellar service! All around wonderful experience. I hope to visit this place with my family one day. Do yourselves a favor and stop in and sample the local fare.

What. How does this place have such high ratings?
I came here after touring the Vatican Museums. The two servers working were very nice. Ordered a pizza topped with salami and a tiramisu for dessert.
Before the meal starts, they give you complimentary deep-​fried pizza dough balls – which were AMAZING.
Then my pizza arrived, served on a wooden platter. I could smell the damp wood; in fact, the odor was so strong, it somewhat overwhelmed the aroma of the pizza. The pizza itself… meh. I’ve had better pizza outside of Italy.
The tiramisu, however, was amazing. Just go here for the tiramisu.

Sehr nett, schöné Möglichkeit, ganz nahe beim Vatikan, vor einer Führung zum Beispiel, noch einen Kaffee zu trinken — gar nicht teuer und sehr lecker, obwohl mitten im Touri-​Hotspot.
Das Essen habe ich nicht testen können.

Ayant regardé TripAdvisor au préalable afin de trouver un restaurant près de la Basilique, nous sommes tombés sur celui-​ci.
Les photos et les critiques étant magnifiques et attrayantes, nous nous sommes laissés tenter.
Arrivés à l’entrée il y avait une jolie Vespa jaune qui donne la première note du décors intérieur.
Une fois entrés, quelle belle surprise: un cadre magnifique ! Des murs en vieilles briques, d’anciennes vespas disposées à l’entrée, etc. Une serveuse souriante, aimable et très attentionnée nous a accueillis et s’est occupée de nous tout au long du repas.
En apéritif, elle nous a offert des petits beignets locaux et des olives ainsi que du pain.
Pour le plat nous avions fait simple et efficace (malgré une carte très variée et alléchante): un spaghetti bolognaise pour madame et une pizza cappriciosa pour moi. Les plats étaient copieux, bien présentés et très bons.
Nous avons accompagné ce bon repas d’une bouteille de vin blanc conseillé par la serveuse. Délicieux également.
Et en dessert nous avons goûté à l’incontournable tiramisu italien, qui lui aussi, était très bon !
Au terme du repas, nous avons même eu l’occasion d’avoir une discussion avec la serveuse qui n’a pas hésité à prendre du temps pour répondre à nos questions et également pour s’intéresser à nous. Ce fut une très belle rencontre.
Pour conclure: nous avons passé une agréable soirée. Nous avons bien mangé dans un lieu où il y avait peu de touristes, avec un personnel chaleureux et un très bon rapport qualité-​prix.
Lors d’un prochain passage à Rome, c’est sur, nous y retournerons !

My bf and I are visiting Rome for a week. We were strolling around our hotel for a late lunch and walked into this place. The waitress was soooo sweet and attentive! The tomato soup was BOMB DIGGITY! The flavors burst in your mouth, it’s awesome! You must get it!
The spaghetti was good but The tiramisu was EXCELLENT! A true homemade tiramisu. Not to much of a coffee taste, and light fluffy cream
The two waitress were very nice.
After a long day of visiting the Vatican, come in for some grub, your inner fat girl will be happy.
