Started off a little disappointed. Ordered the sea bass Carpaccio and it was tough and fibrous. Sent it back and the owner seemed so disappointed and pointed out that this was one of his best dishes! Well if that is his best I would have been very disappointed after that right? Well, the meals and courses just got better and better! The bacon wrapped shrimp and the fettuccine shrimp and finally the dessert was amazing. Paired the Nobile di Montepulciano didn’t quite work but the wine by itself was pretty good. The wafer thin triangled crisp was a star! Overall, the dinner was a success! However, it wasn’t without its pit falls!

Was looking for a place to eat lunch on our last day in Rome and came across this place on Unilocal.Really good pizza and the lasagna was great as well. I’m sure everything else on the menu is equally good as I glanced at some of the other dishes they were bringing out for customers. The staff was friendly and service was fast. And I shouldn’t forget to mention the prices are very reasonable.

My hubby and I came here for lunch on our last full day in Rome — after returning from a trip to Florence and ready to fly out. My hubby was hellbent on finding the perfect pizza, but unfortunately he just didn’t here. I got the procusitto & cheese(ham & cheese) pizza while my hubby got the hot salami and cheese pizza. The crust was a little too crispy around the edges and the salami on his was pretty funky tasting. It was not super memorable, but I have no doubt that other stuff there is as other reviewers have stated. The service was spotty — our waiter left ¾ of the way through serving us and didn’t tell us or make any comment on it. The owner sat in the main area just yelling for another waiter to get us our check. It was awkward.

We used the recommendations by other Unilocal users to try out this restaurant and were not disappointed. We had the antipasto platter to share with cheese and fig jam, which was delicious. Next we chose a lamb dish and a veal dish, both with delectable gravy and sauces, and finished off with tirimasu, the lightest I have ever eaten. Complimentary coffee cream was served also. This was a lovely meal, we will definitely be going back.

Stopped by here for lunch with the fiancé on a recommendation from the hotel front desk. Let me start off by saying the food was amazing. We ordered the spaghetti with clams which was very good but the hand made potato gnocchi with pesto sauce was Amaazzinngg! Hands down the best gnocchi i have ever had. We also shared a pizza which was also very good. Did i also mention this ended up being one of our least expensive meals in Europe. Will definitely be dining here again.

Hands down some of the best food we had in Italy. The Sea bass was off the charts. Hubby had the pesto gnocchi with bacon and artichokes. It was all delicious and the house wine…1 liter for 10 € really! Please if you visit Rome stop by! You will not be sorry. And to the chef thanks for the limoncello it was divine!!!

I found this Unilocal and decided to give it a try since it was close to our hotel and had good reviews. We were not disappointed. We ate on the early side and were the only people in the restaurant, but it was great since we had a long day of travel. We will go back before our trip is over.

My honey and I ate here on our last night in Rome and oh how i wish wed found it sooner. The food was excellent and portions were ample. We order the focaccia, which arrived hot and lightly seasoned, with a crisp bottom and chewy yet fluffy body. So good for mopping up the sauce of the dishes to come. The mister ordered the gnocchi with lamb sauce and I, the Sardinian couscous, which is like a paella. At first I was bummed that I’d ordered seafood because the gnocchi was so good. Like and airy, in a rich sauce that was full of lamb flavor without being over whelming. Absolutely delicious! I kept wondering, why did I order seafood? Well, it’s because they do seafood right, that’s why. The couscous was firm and not overcooked, the shellfish fresh and the sauce… oh the sauce! We contemplated ordering more focaccia for the sauces alone. Everything was washed down with a liter of house wine, which is good enough that there no need to get bottle specific, and a few bottles of acqu frizzante. Just typing this review makes me wish I could go back again. And next time we’re in Rome, we certainly will!

Good place, solid Italian fare. The spaghetti carbonara was excellent and the gnocchi with marinara was great too. Wine is generous and service is attentive. The desserts are underwhelming, and we tried one of each. The tiramisu has a strong coffee flavor, which I enjoyed, but the others were so-so.

3.5 stars. After a long day of site seeing, we were hungry and wanted to grab some food to take to the hotel. Not every restaurant in Rome takes to go orders, for the most part they want you to dine in. Gratefully, Berzitello accepts to go orders. Employees are quick and friendly. We tried the Fettucini al Sugo and Pizza Salame. Both dishes had good flavor and the portions were generous. I wouldn’t say their pizza and pasta was out of this world or some of the best I tried during our stay in Rome, but it was still good. We are just grateful they let us place orders to go, so we could get our pizza and pasta fix, while relaxing in our hotel. The Tiramisu was also a nice way to end our meal, not overly sweet and very flavorful.

This place was wonderful. I was traveling with a group of 6 other girls and we were having trouble making a reservation the night we dined here– but Berzitello was very accommodating. We started with their antipasti sampler and the focaccia bread– which included mostly meats, olives and a few pieces of cheese as well as a bottle of each the red and white house wine– both were good. I ordered the white fish of the day– which was in a white wine sauce and melted in your mouth. My friends got the lasagna, crab pesto pasta and the bone-in chicken dish. The chicken was my friend’s favorite meal of our trip. We were full but for dessert we ordered the tiramisu and seadas– both you should definitely order!

Very good pasta and prices are affordable as well. The restaurant is very nice inside. The women’s bathroom is also very cute. There is a little couch inside! The service was great. The waiters spoke English so it was easy to ask questions about the menu which also had English under each menu item.

Excellent restaurant trouvé sur vos conseils! Cadre typique, grand choix de vins. Né sachant du coup pas quoi prendre, nous nous sommes laissés guider par le serveur, aucun regrets! À recommander.

[ October 2015 ] Excellent food with friendly service. Make sure to get the focaccia to start. The Spaghetti ala Carbonara was just fantastic. Stay for the tiramisu… you won’t regret it!

Arrived in Rome. Showered and headed to eat. This spot is right down the street from the hotel. It was quiet and perfect after a 15 hr train ride. We started with the Calimari. PERFECT! I had the Linguini in Pesto with Shrimp Scampi, ate the whole thing. We ordered the house red by the liter. It was exactly what you would expect with a house red. Ambiance is vet clam, lovely little spot!

I gave it 5 stars because I want people to go to this restaurant. As a tourist, it doesn’t have any curb appeal and I would never pick it just by walking by. In fact, you could easily miss it if you aren’t looking for it. But… the food was GREAT!!! More for the locals I’m guessing. Small, indoor, no AC, no frills but it’s worth it. Great food and good prices. Order off the fresh fish menu and you will be pleased. Would give it 6 stars if it had nice outside seating with more ambiance.

Love this place. Husband and I came here on our first night in Rome, it was so good we returned a couple nights later. We ordered their prosciutto pizza and the carbonara pizza(olives, eggs, artichokes, and salami) Second time we ordered lasagna and spaghetti with anchovies, yum! The staff were so nice, they recognised us the second time. They are really hard workers too so we tipped even though it wasn’t expected. I love the restaurant attitude of trying their best all the time no matter who your guest is out of pride instead of how American waiters expect a tip for poor or barely acceptable service.

Ordered the fried anchovies and finished off with the carbonara and seafood spaghetti. I would suggest this place as a quick hit spot. The place is big and hard to find, hidden in the alley behind the main street. The house wine doesn’t taste that good, but it’s like $ 4 for almost all you can drink =) So that makes it taste awesome!

Really nice experience. I agree with the earlier review about the inappropriate art in the restaurant. Interesting but not kid friendly. Had great antipasto and house vino was decent. The sea bass was tasty too!
