We had made reservations to go to Osteria di Fortunado tonight. We showed up ten minutes early to experience absolute chaos. We had only picked the place based on Unilocal reviews but it was an absolute $”&@ show when we arrived. Could not tell where to check in with the hostess, angry and hurried wait staff, and unhappy customer faces. When I asked a patron what he thought, his reply was «I’ve had better». Yep, reservation cancelled. Walked down the street and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Great service by Sherif. He heard us debating between two appetizers, finally settled on one and he brought us a bit of both without us asking– perfect! They did not have a wine menu and service was a bit slow (only reason they don’t get 5 stars) but they worked hard to earn our praise and the food was fantastic! Try the fried zucchini flowers, lasagna, and grilled chicken. They also threw in two free glasses of wine and a free tiramisu dessert just for fun! Check this great place out and don’t pay for tourist traps like the Fortunado.
