This place is fantastic — a surprising find so close to Trevi Fountain. Old school kind of place; we were the only native English speakers. The menu is in Italian and the wine list is hand written. The owner is extremely nice and helped us out with our menu. Simple and absolutely delicious food. We had the Bresaola w/shaved pecorino — it was served with an amazing balsamic. The bucatini amatriciana was equally fantastic — simple sauce with a hint of spice that served to bring out the flavors but not over heat you. The sole al moro had an amazing lemon sauce. The desserts were delicious, and our wine was some of the best we’ve had in Italy. I’d go back here in a heartbeat — do call ahead for reservations!

I can’t recommend this place enough! At first I was hesitant since it’s so close to the Trevi Fountain and I feared it can be a tourist trap. But nope! Once I walked in there were tons of Italians in their blue suits talking and drinking away with their gorgeous plates of food in front of them. I ordered the Spaghetti Al Moro(carbonara) here and was blown away. I hadn’t had the best food in Rome but when I tried this — tastebuds explosion! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was rich. The service is wonderful. The waiters are all older Italian men who may not know too much English and their wine list is a giant book handwritten. These people appreciate good food and good wine. To this day, my friend and I still talk about it. We went 3 times while in Rome. Highly recommend. You won’t regret it.

I ate here a few times while in Rome. The food is wonderful but DONOT eat outside. I ate both inside and outside and they were entirely different experiences in both food and service. Inside is where the locals dine. The waiters recommend different dishes and different wine. Outside is all tourists and they treat it that way. The menu is slightly different and what lands on your table seems to be a little less special. Definitely try it. But wait for an inside table.

Located down a back ally near the Trevi Fountain area, this was a nice find pointed out by our hotel. Be forewarned on two things…1) when they say it opens at 7:30, that is a recommendation like the traffic laws are. We got there at 7:30 and they opened about 7:45. The second thing is the menu, though very extensive, is totally in Italian. The waiter will make some recommendations, but I don’t think we got the full understanding of all they had. The food was very good. We had the special Al Moro pasta and spicy lamb. All were very well presented and tasted great. Recommend you make reservations and eat like an Italian… late. It was a lot of fun.

The chicken parmesan was excellent, but the osso buco tasted exactly like the roast beef and peas I had at the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland, Anaheim, California, USA, in 1978. Service was mediocre.

This place is a right by the Trevi Fountain tucked away in a back alley which is perfect because you won’t find tourists here. A priest and his party, Italian businessmen & other random locals were the clientele here. It’s been around since the 20’s! The waiters are quite prim and proper. To be honest not the friendliest guys in the world but they get the job done and they it well & efficiently. Some of the best pasta I’ve had & you can tell it was hand made and cut. The artichoke anti pasta was perfect! The gelato was my favorite dessert amongst the 3 we all shared. Be prepared to shell out some euros at this place but every euro cents is worth it!

It’s expensive, but they had the best artichokes I have ever tasted and the veal medallions with porcini mushrooms was solid. All of the other people there seemed to really be Italian, which is impressive given how close it is to Trevi.

I love this place. Make time for lunch or dinner after visiting the trevi fountain. amazing food and wine in traditional old school setting… the carbonara is amazing, but so is everything i have had there not good for large groups or screaming kids or casual tourists in shorts and fanny packs looking for pizza or spaghetti and meatballs… which makes it great for locals and seasoned travelers
