I normally like to stay in a nice hotel the night before I leave to go home, it gives me a nice memory from wherever I just came. Lesson learned, spring for the Marriott down the road, even if it’s an extra 40e expense. The front desk staff was quite rude. When asked how to get to Rome on public transit, their directions were not only very general, but very wrong. The room itself was a nice size, but it had zero amenities. No ironing board, iron, alarm clock, fridge/minibar, no place to sit other than the bed. The TV was tiny and made sparking noises anytime it was plugged in. The bed was actually comfortable, but after finding no fewer than three species of insects in the room, it felt like it was crawling. The worst was the bathroom, though. Mold on the tile grout and ceiling, musty smell. Water pressure was good, but it alternated between cold and scalding hot. If we didn’t have to prepay, I probably would’ve checked back out after seeing the room.
