My dad picked the restaurant & ordered for us, his usual pick to start — the black squid ink pasta(spaghetti al nero di seppie) — wonderful!!! The best I’ve ever had! The squid was tender & flavorful. The dish had the right amount of oil & garlic to complement the flavor without overwhelming. The pinnacle of what this dish should be. Our main course was a baked Orata(sea bream, I think, in English). Perfectly cooked & flaky. Well seasoned. Complemented by delicious potatoes that my American friend talked about for the remainder of her visit. And, as most places in Italy, certainly in this region, your best bet to accompany your meal is a carafe of the house wine. Overall, an excellent dining experience at a great price. In Italy, I believe you are better served going to a moderately priced, family-run trattoria like this than some posh & fancy restaurant. Good, simple food done right wins the day in my book!
