I ate lunch here at Pompei, Italy on 6÷4÷2013(June 4, 2013). It was my 1st time visiting the ruins of Pompeii and it is located near the entrance to the ruins. Prices were a little high but the food was good. Plus, I took photos.

Stopped here for coffee/snacks in the AM before the Pompeii museum opened. Then, came back for lunch. Their coffee and pastries are oober amazing. I wish we had café in the US like they do in Italy. We shared a neapolitano pizza(fresh off the oven) and a veggie lasagna con vino naturalmente. Everything was«molto delizioso»! I am not positive, but I think this is a familly owned business. The servers were all very attentive and helpful with suggesting what to order. Vegans beware: soy and other non-meat/food substitues do not exist(or not as readily available) in Europe. But, you’ll feel good knowing you’re eating all organic foods. Starbucks was the only place I know that carried soy milk. You can not leave Naples w/o tasting a pizza napoletana(their tomatoes are very sweet/flavorful). So definitely give this place a shot. **In case you don’t read all my reviews, there’s also a local wine store/bar next door to the Suisse(behind the snack bar area). All the wines they carry are for locals only(i.e. they do not import) since they do not make enough. Very pricey, but when that red wine coats your mouth like heaven… you will realize how you can’t pass on purchasing a bottle or two.

4÷14÷2014) Place is a multi-functional location(hotel, bar, restaurant, self-service, lemonade and gelato stand) and ideally situated across from the main drop off point for tourist buses and the entrance to the Pompeii ruins. That said, they charge you noticeably more than businesses serving the same just a few steps off the beaten path(we discovered this after having eaten there). Pizza is a good bet, though, they’ve got the oven fired up right in the open kitchen so you can see it being made and pulled from the fires. Crust is lightly charred, puffy at the edges, thin and chewy at the middle. Being American, we like cheese, so had the Pizza Margherita(tart sauce, fresh mozzarella, 1 basil leaf), 9 euros. Pretty good, decent amount of seating(if not hogged up by large bus group), open and light. Table service on the patio seemed to be a pleasant way to go, too, but slow service. Gelato from the stand is 0.50 euro more than the stand next door, but they sell the same ordinary national brand, nothing special.
