Paolo Bea makes a number of wines and also raw extra virgin olive oil. They’re a new style winery bottling starting in the 1980s. Their approach is somewhat unusual in that the 2006 Paolo Bea Rosso de Veo Sagrantino tastes more like something from Burgundy than Italy. Im no somm so you would have fooled me if I wasnt told otherwise. As a lover of Burgundy however, it’s hard not to like the wine even though Sagrantino is not a grape Im familiar with.
