We stumbled on this place after wandering around central Perugia. It was full of people all speaking Italian, so we decided it was probably worth a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The wine list had a bunch of Umbrian gems. The waiter spoke a decent amount of English and was able to guide us through the wine list and the menu. He was also very patient with us and didn’t rush us to finish our meal despite being the last diners there. We started with the prosciutto de norcia. It was heavenly, especially with the excellent local wine. We then shared the penne alla norcina, which was phenomenal. The penne was perfectly chewy, and the sauce was perfectly seasoned and creamy. The pork chop I had was one of the best pork chops I have had in my whole life. My husband had the excellent local sausage. We had such a good experience our first night in Perugia, we returned to Cesarino the next day as well. Both nights were wonderful.
