Alberghi: La Rosetta

we visited this 4 star hotel for ~$ 110 and were optimistic upon walking into the lobby. When we reached our room, it was a bit of a different story. The bedroom smelled a little musty, the room was outdated with an odd red couch in the corner that looked like a sweaty person had slept on it.
Positive? The staff let us reschedule to one day earlier with no additional fees on a busy weekend (Chocolate Festival just outside the hotel).
Location is great, staff is nice, hotel is a bit outdated but also a little charming.

Terrible hotel!!! My friends and I were here for a music festival from the mid to the end of July. We were expecting high quality service, clean rooms, and comfortable environment, since it’s a four star hotel. However, we experienced the opposite. All of us got bitten by some kind of bed bugs or flees in our blankets/​covers or even mattresses, one of us has over 15 bug bites on her arm within one night! When we approached the front desk for questions regarding the possibility of bed bugs, their response was «This happens very often in the summer, it’s normal.»
Also, the furnitures in our room have cushions and covers on them. These covers look so old, that there are stains on them. We’re not sure if we expected too much from a 4 star hotel, but this definitely is not the best choice.

Absolutely to avoid! You pay everything in advance, but months later the hotel tells you that your reservation is canceled because it want resell the room to others!
It’s happened to several people. You can’t trust in them!

Staying in this hotel was like stepping back in time. It is really a beautiful hotel. It is definitely not a modern hotel with luxurious amenities, but it has Italian charm. Parking can be a pain, but where in Italy is it not? Our room was very large with very high ceilings and the furnishings appeared to be very old and beautiful. The location couldn’t be better and service was very good. My only complaint is that the hair dryer appeared to be from the 1950’s or 60’s. It looked more like a vacuum than a hairdryer and barely produced air. It was very dirty and it was held together with tape. I had to buy a hairdryer.
