This hotel is elegant and charming! While having all the modern conveniences you’d expect, the Excelsior Hilton captures a stoic vibe. The building is old and rustic, and the décor matches well, creating a classy, refined atmosphere. The staff are all very courteous and helpful, and everyone at the restaurant and front desk speaks English, which is very helpful. Amenities include a 24-hour fitness center(important for travelers who value exercise!) and Wi Fi.(No pool.) The fitness center is small but sufficient. There’s a bike, 2 treadmills, row machine, elliptical, medicine balls, free weights, benches, and matts.(And towels and COLD water!) The air conditioning isn’t too great in the fitness center, but it’s better than nothing. The location of this hotel is perfect; it’s in the newer/nicer/safer part of town and is only a short walk down the main street to all the restaurants, shops, main plaza, etc. There are two parks right near the hotel that are beautiful and perfect for taking a little stroll. I highly recommend this hotel!

As I sit here and reflect on my brief stay at the Hilton Excelsior, I am torn between what aspects of my patronage I have thoroughly enjoyed the most. Was it the windowless prison cell they initially tried to put me in? Was it stale formaggio stench permeating throughout the room? Or perhaps it was the mother hysterically crying in the lobby after cleaning up rat feces and cockroach body parts? Definitely a tough call. This hotel is what real estate’rs like to call a «tear down». The Hilton execs should be ashamed of themselves as they sit in their palatial Bel-Air mansions eating their foie gras. Highly recommended if you like sleeping on top of the sheets.

This hotel does not live up to the Hilton branding; a big disappointment. The front desk person(only one) was overwhelmed. We had problems with TV, power, Wi-Fi and«pushy» maid service. When I was in the shower, someone entered the room without my permission to work on an electrical curcit board.

Beautiful, beautiful hotel in the center of Palermo’s shopping area. Five minutes to the beach. Well located near public transportation. I stayed at the Hilton Excelsior last week while in Palermo. The staff were unbelievably helpful and attentive. They go out of their way to make guests feel relaxed and comfortable. When I missed my flight, the wonderful woman working the front desk went above and beyond her job to help me search, and book a new flight. Also the breakfast in the morning has something for everyone.
