Entry fee: 3 € I would say that the Catacombs are definitely not something for the faint hearted. But worth a visit. Because it is interesting — it really shows how much the people worshiped their beloved family members and how they could not let go; also how over the years the´ve become more and more experienced in conserving the mummies. Please respect the death and do not take pictures! Big brother is watching you…

Previous reviewer mentioned, that corpses don’t have name tags, but some of them do. From what I gathered, most of them are dead before their 30s. If you recently lost some one close, don’t come here. You’ll see not only cool looking corpses, but also baby and children corpses as well. Some are really funny looking and you can have a good laugh, once you have a bit of imagination. No filming or taking pictures, but there’re no one to stop you from doing so. Don’t feel afraid to do so.

This was easily one of the weirdest museums I have ever walked through. I knew before hand that I wanted to visit the catacombs because I thought it would be cool and unusual. Not sure what else to expect, but it was. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the crypt, checking out rotting corpses, and looking at skulls. Some were a bit scary so if you’re skittish I don’t recommend coming alone. The entrance fee is less than 5 euros(I think I may have even paid 3 with my student discount?) and was well worth it. I thought there would be more of an educational aspect to the museum but it’s just bodies lined up against the wall. I didn’t know who I was looking at but I guess that’s for the better. Great for teens who hate museums, not sure this is a place you’d want to bring a 4 year old.
