Enjoyed lunch here today & will probably go back again. So many tasty things that it was hard to keep ourselves from eating too much. Our waiter was very helpful. Yummy pistachio gelato too!

Best granita in all of Palermo. The lemon is actually made from real lemons and the ice is not too fine in the structure, as you see it a lot of places. Definitely the best way to cool down on a warm day in Palermo.

I have been here several times over the past few years. Sitting outside in the evening is picturesque in a great part of town, but the food isn’t particularly special. The service is slower than the average restaurant/café in Palermo, but sometimes the atmosphere is worth it.

Place with worst service in Palermo would be a great understatement of how horrible we were treated. The gelato was OK, nothing extraordinary, only the pistacchio flavor was good. There were two servers but for some reason only one was allowed to serve gelato so we had to wait for 20 minutes while the one server stared at us. As if the pointless wait wasn’t enough, we weren’t allowed to sit down because we had only ordered gelato even though out of the 20 some tables, there were only 3 taken. Luckily that was the only bad culinary experience in Palermo.

I visited Sicily with my friends in late October 2014. This was the only restaurant we ate at in Sicily, and I am very happy with our choice. We only had one day in Sicily, so we loved how we were able to have real Sicilian food without having to wait a long time at a sit down restaurant. I tried the Sicilian pizza(margarita, mushroom, and sausage). They were absolutely delicious, and they cut it for you! I also tried the elephant ear pastry. I had 4 for only 0.85 Euros, and it was extremely good. Sicily truly is the city of sweets! The manager was extremely kind as well. I struggled with connecting to the wifi, and he came back to check on our table to see if we had connected. The ordering process is confusing, but it is the ordering process of many places in Italy. You need to order with the food servers, pay at the cashier, take the receipt to the food served, and then take your food. Overall, delicious, worth its price, and great service Also, this is one of few places in Sicily that actually have free wifi without needing to register a credit card!

A very good cafè in one of the main streets of Palermo, where you can enjoy all the good local specialties at an affordable price. Recommended the croissants with Sicilian pistachio, filled in front of you so both the pastry and the cream will keep the best flavor, and the almond or pistachio slashes.

Yum. Tried cannoli, pizza and cookies. All were reasonably priced and tasty.

This café dates back to the 1860s and is located on the Via Principe del Belmonte, a lovely walking street in Palermo. It’s divided into to separate sections with the right hand side selling pastries and candies and the left hand side more of a café. There’s also a large terrace where you can have drinks and sweets outdoors which would be a nice way to spend a late afternoon watching the people go by. We enjoyed the wild strawberry cake the most and the gelato was quite good as well.

Amazing cakes and desserts in a city known for their sweets. The south of Italy is known for their sweets, be it granita, canoli or cake. Spinnato has a long history, circa 1860, and is simply amazing. It was the first place I stopped when I arrived in Palermo and I must have picked up a snack here at three times in four days. There are two sections to Spinnato, the pastries side and the drinks/café side. There’s a slight premium for dining in, but it’s a nice break from the heat. My desserts of choice here are the canoli, and a torta de fragole(strawberry cake). They are both simply delightful! The cake was my absolute favorite… home made whipped, great Italian cake and fresh strawberries. On a hot day, I would also recommend one of their granitas. Made with fresh fruit! I believe they also send their pastries across the walkway to the coffee and chocolate place(though not 100% on this). The venue is on a pedestrian street, so it’s fairly quiet with a great atmosphere. As with all well established venues, the workers take great pride in their jobs. So they will be dressed in suits, full aprons, etc… a definite plus to have people that love their jobs. If you’re in Palermo, a definite MUST for any lover of sweets(and even those without a sweet tooth)!!!
