Pizzeria Da Sergio is a breath of fresh air in this rather forgotten part of the Italian countryside just an hour drive from Rome. You walk in, and you instantly feel like you are stepping into a very tasteful, civilized and welcoming place — which is rare in Olevano Romano. Sergio also speaks English, and he is a very friendly, lively person who exudes Italian warmth and humor. In addition, he can COOK. I have eaten here many times over the past five years and have yet to have anything but a fantastic meal. He runs a wood-fired pizza oven for pizzas, plus a full kitchen for the gamut of Italian dishes, mostly local recipes from the area. He carries some of the best local wines, and even has high quality beers on tap. If you’re lucky, you’ll happen in on a night when he has live music playing and you can tap your feet to a lively jazz beat while dining.
