We chose Stella because of the music and large crowd. We first asked for water and had the glasses slammed down on the table before being told we couldn’t order food for half an hour. This was interesting considering other tables were already eating. The caprese salad and margharita pizza were mediocre and the bread they gave us was chewy and burnt. The DJ was repeatedly told to turn down the music but kept creeping it back up. Their location by the water and their cold beers were the only things they had to going for them.

Stella is a great go-to restaurant in Naples. It’s always open when others are closed, the food is top notch and the location can’t be beat. It’s central to the lovely Chiaia district. The outside seating will have you looking out into the bay, Castel dell’Ovo and maybe even Capri on a clear day. Indoors is very nice as well. On the menu, you will find all kinds of regional foods, including pizzas, pastas, fresh fish and other meats and they keep it seasonal. The pizzas are very good and if you fancy trying a few other dishes, they’ll make you a nice array of appetizers/starters. The prices are mid-range, but very good for what you get. The service is good, friendly and attentive, but it can get scattered when they’re busy. In any event, it’s a good place to which I return time and time again.
