One of the few Asian cuisines you can find in Naples, a bit off the beaten trail, but a great modern restaurant. Suggestions: Ginger side salad Donburi Gyuniku Yaki

Non-Italian food in Napoli is a rare commodity. That being said, the sushi at Kukai is not the best I’ve had in town. Kukai is a nice restaurant, big enough to walk-in without reservations on most nights(however I’d always suggest calling ahead for dinner). It’s also open for lunch on most days, which is convenient. The staff, when not ultra-busy is very nice and accommodating. If it’s a busy night, you may get stuck waiting for a fresh drink, or even to order. The sushi is good, but not great, especially considering the cost. It’s a bit pricey. They do have a nice seaweed salad and a few non-roll options. Would like to see gyoza/dumplings as a starter, though. If you got time to try multiple sushi restaurants in Naples, try it. If you want sushi now, try Tender.

This place is undoubtedly a hip spot for Naples. They have another restaurant in Capri. There is glass all around the kitchen so we can see the staff cook. Honestly I found the quality unequal. If you stick with the basics(sushi, sashimi…) it’s more than ok. Eveything else we ordered was just uninteresting. Also, they did not ask us how we wanted the different dishes to be served, like the order. They just brought the plates one after another. I could not even reach my glass anymore. All in all it’s not cheap: we paid around 35 € each and I got a pizza slice afterwards ’cause I was still hungry. Fancy place yes but if you’re hungry don’t bother stopping by.
