This place is known in Naples as one of the temples of sfogliatella(a quintessential Neapolitan dessert). I can confirm it was delicious, both the riccia variant and the frolla. Get some to take away before boarding your train from Neaples main station(opposite).

I have only lived in Napoli 6 mese, but so far, this is the best Sfogliata calza riccia I have had — fresh and hot from the oven. Unquestionably worth a visit if you have time to waste at the train station(also close to a market 1 block further).

A rare pearl. A nice place where to enjoy a lovely and sweet«sfogliatella»(napoletan cake). Sfogliatella could be of 2 different type Frolla and Riccia no equivalent in English just test it. Other tidbits to taste are the so called ’ biscotto amarena’(a biscuit with cocao at the sour black cherry flavor) and Babà(a syroup spoung like bake). See pics. Please, don’t forget to take your number. Your taste bunds will thank you

A me personalmente preferisco quella ricca, a più consistenza. I was taking a taxi with my mother, talking about grabbing some sfogliattelle and a coffee before checking out the city, when our cab driver, did the most moviesque thing ever: «did someone say sfogliatelle?», hooked a right and pulled up to a street corner saying:” this place has the best sfogliatelle in Naples”. He was right! It’s a bit of a line, but You better get both kinds, the crunchy and soft one. It’s filled with a ricotta like center and miniature pieces of candied fruit that add a little extra sweetness. It’s absolutely delightful, and an absolute must if you’re in Naples!

There are two kinds of sfogliatelle in napoli– riccia which is layered and frolla which is flat. They have the same filling and both are freaking delicious. Get them hot.

This is not the sfogliatelle you get back in even the best Italian bakery in NYC. About $ 1.15 each, fresh out of the oven, moist, perfectly flaky/crispy and delicious. 4.5. Voted– a definite must try while in Naples!
