I love my life. Four weeks ago I was in Naples, Italy. As fate had destined, my hotel was a short walk from the oldest pizzeria in Naples. I had been awake for over 24 hours, but I wasn’t about to let this opportunity pass me by. I dragged myself to Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba. They waiter gave me a menu, but I already knew what I needed — Margherita. I watched the baker go to work. Within minutes I had perfection on a plate. I started chatting with one of the men who worked there. He invited me into the kitchen to meet the pizza baker and get a picture in front of their oven. It was a religious experience.

Best Margarita pizza I’ve ever had. May be due to the fact I’m in Italy. Friendly people and very fast carry out service.

Holy wow this restaurant was amazing! Came here with my husband and two little sisters. My sisters got gnocchi and penne with the port alba sauce. I got the linguine with muscles. And my husband got the pizza doc(margarita with tomatoes). All of these dishes were fantastic! We highly recommend this place. Keep in mind that the food comes out European-pace, so you’re going to be waiting a while. For my Americans, I understand that might be a struggle, but trust me it’s worth the wait.

¡uy, si yo no pagaba!

We were walking around Napoli searching for a restaurant that was open at 6pm and found this wonderful place! Although we saw it was supposedly the world’s first pizzeria… we ordered pasta and risotto. We were not disappointed!!! I ordered the spaghetti carbonara which was the best I have ever had! My boyfriend had the salmon risotto and we both agreed it was the best he has had in Europe so far. Both with large portions and only 8 euros, a great deal! We ordered the onion pizza which was only 5 euros but had it to go which was an extra 5 euros. Although we didn’t try it when it was fresh, a few hours later(and even the next day) it was absolutely delicious! We both enjoyed a glass of red wine and the bill came to 37 euros! And this was even with the to go fee. It was such a great deal and the waiter was a wonderful host who spoke enough English to carry a conversation. This was our first night out where every table was a tourist like us! We would have ate there every night if that wasn’t our last night.

LAMEJORPIZZADEMIVIDA. Así, todo con mayúsculas. He estado ya varias veces. Fan, fan, fan.

Tucked away in the old entrance to historic Napoli is where you will find what’s is regarded as the world’s first pizzeria! And by far the best tasting pizza in Napoli. The service was kind and friendly, spoke both Italian and English. We shared 2 glasses of wine, and the margarita pizza. We sat outside along the alley way, and after dinner we got a great treat. We were able to go into the kitchen and see the oven that is over 90 years old.(Not the original oven, but still pretty old). A must stop when in Napoli!

Great pizzas but poor service(very slow) and beer was not cold at all! Probably, it was just this occasion/night but I can have pizzas in Naples like these and have a better service!

Stellar food. All the pizza in Naples is good, but this was the best. It was worth the trek to find it. The prices are also very reasonable. I would highly recommend it.

Service was with a smile and although we know zero Italian we managed to get by. My husband and I shared a margarita and 4 formaggi pizza. They were perfect and massive! My husband loves a crispy crust, I love a thick crust, these pizzas were crispy, doughy, thick and thin, saucy and not, all in the one. It really is the sort of pizza that would please the masses. We went on a rainy Sunday evening and were only able to eat in(no street pizza this day). Happy we did eat in, our pizzas + 2 glasses of wine(more in a glass than standard) came to € 22(including service charge) but worth a whole lot more!!! We probably waited only 5 minutes for our pizzas to arrive as well. Overall a 5 star pizzeria, worth paying a visit :)

I seek out great pizza in every city I visit. The margherita pizza was the best I have ever had in my life. Trust me… I’ve been to Frank Pepe’s, Sally’s, Modern, Zuppardi’s, and Bar in New Haven, john’s, lombardi’s, Di Fara’s, Grimaldi’s, and L&B’s in NYC, and highly regarded pizzerias in other cities. This was simple and magical at the same time. A wonderful crust, with a bottom browned but not burned, and delicious flavor. Please go there if you’re ever in Naples.

Didn’t quite live up to expectations, based on previous reviews. It was a cool experience eating at one of the original pizzerias in Naples(since 1738!) but the flavours were only OK. I’ve had better pizza. But the beer was cold and cheap!

This is by far one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had in naples and Italy overall. Before I get started with the food, I must talk about the amazing hospitality I felt in this pizzeria. I truly felt like I was sitting in someone’s living room. The server was extremely attentive and very knowledgable. I was unsure of trying the buffa mozerlla so I played it safe and went for one of my favorites, margharita pizza. Not only was the pizza by far the best that I’ve ever had but the server was so kind enough to bring up some buffa mozerella for me to try along with my pizza. Such a great experience and I would recommend it to every and anyone.

A lot of things are closed on Sundays — supermarkets, stores, and apparently pizzerias. We were going to go to another pizzeria, but found out it was closed. We stumbled upon this find and decided to go in after observing a few locals taking their seats. Large selection on the menu from regional specialties like mussels and fried potato balls(crocche). We did not get any pasta here, but instead stuck with the pizzas and little appetizers. We got the DOC margherita pizza and a mushroom pizza. Loved them both. There’s something about the tomatoes or olive oil or something here that made the pie just amazing. The restaurant is a member of AVPN Two pizzas and 2 appetizers came out to be under 25 Euros and this is including a 2E service charge. Only negative that it took really, really long between our appetizers and pizzas to come out. The restaurant wasn’t very busy either as we went after the lunch rush.

Love pizza here in NY and try it everywhere so I had to try the FIRST pizzeria on earth(or italy). Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba in Naples is widely regarded as the city’s first pizzeria ever. Not the most exciting place but the walk through the city and little streets getting there is fun and stopping in for a pie is the next best thing to do.
