First of all, Unilocal has it wrong saying it is open from noon to midnight. They actually close at 2:30 and open again at 6:30. They do not have a variety of pizzas, just cheese pizzas but they are super big and the dough is good. It’s fluffy and full… and when they burn the cheese… yay you know it so good. They also have lasagna but I wouldn’t recommend it unless all you want is the lasagna pasta. Hardly any sauce, cheese or meat(if it had meat) but it wasn’t bad too. It’s a bit busy and not big place. But the price is good. The lasagna was only € 5 and a normal pizza is € 5.50 and a big is € 6.50. I would go back here for pizza again.

C’est clairement l’usine ici: on fait la queue en attendant qu’une table se libère, pas de menu mais la carte affichée au mur, on est servi en quelques minutes et la plupart des tables sont collées. Au choix deux tailles de pizza normale à 5 € ou abondante 6 € et des lasagnes, on fait les gourmands et on commande des abondantes! En effet c’est copieux on reçoit l’équivalent d’une part et demi de pizza au fromage. Alors meilleure pizza de Milan? Dur à dire c’est bon mais ça m’a rappelé les pizzas qu’on trouve à Buenos Aires ou à Pizza Hut mais en moins gras. En effet la pâte est de type pan c’est à dire très épaisse et croustillante et donc bien bourrative. La sauce tomate était excellente on sent que c’est fait maison et le fromage est goûteux et en quantité. On termine par gourmandise par un tiramisu à 3 € et on sort en roulant du resto!

Cash only, they open late. Quick, efficient service. Pizza portions are generous and prices are affordable. I’d say if you like a thicker crust and a simple pizza(cheese tomato sauce and bread), you shall find that here. They have what arancino orange soda too. With my Rick Steves Italy 2016 book not sure I need to take a meal here again but this place is always busy so *maybe* will be back to try their lunch lasagna!

Everyone said this is the best pizza in town, but I thought it was okay. It was good, but it won’t say it’s the best. The pizza is big though so I shared with my friend. The pizza choices were different. You can choose a slice with just the sauce and no cheese on it which is interesting. Definitely go before lunch time because it gets crowded.

La meilleure pizza de Milan ? Je n’ai goûté que celle-là mais elle mérite ses 5 étoiles. Ici, uniquement 1 pizza sur laquelle on peut avoir une double ration de mozzarella. Et au niveau des quantités, c’est normal ou abondant(ce qui correspond à 1,5 fois la part normale). La pâte est épaisse, aérée, le fond est très croustillant. Un délice ! Les quantités sont généreuses et le prix(tout petit pour un français) est dans la moyenne italienne(19 € pour 1 abondante, 1 normale double mozza et 2 boissons). Il faut noter qu’on né vient pas ici pour rester attablé pendant des heures, on mange et on s’en va. Mais le service est agréable, donc ça passé. Attention, la carte de crédit n’est pas acceptée. Cash uniquement !

Seulement deux pizzas au choix, mais quelle saveur ! De belles parts avec une pâte bien épaisse et croustillante comme on en goûtera qu’ici ! Ici, on savoure sa pizza entouré de milanais faisant une pause rapide. Pas de desserts mais de toute manière, vous serez repus après votre plat !

Far and away the best pizza i’ve had and I used be a chef. I’ve eating a lot of Italian food this is head and shoulders above the rest. Only one type of pizza, only two sizes. simple! Italians were queued around the corner for this place. So affordable too! couldn’t believe it. Amazing stuff.

The staff at where I was staying suggested this place for its large and thick pizza but honestly, it’s not worth it. All you’re eating is bread and cheese. There’s not that much flavor to it not is it really good. Don’t get me wrong, it’s interesting to eat but I wouldn’t come back to Milan just to eat this pizza. I’ve definitely have had better pizzas than this spot.

Not sure how or why this casual stand up pizza spot is so popular but you’re basically paying for thick bread covered in the smallest bit of cheese. I suppose if gluten addiction is your thing then it might hit the spot for you but as much as I love bread and pizza I personally crave my pies with thin crust. To each their own.

This place came recommended by a local as a gem pizza joint in Milan. The pizza is very basic, super thick crust, sauce and cheese. There is no menu. Choose a small or large slice. Pizza was meh. I had high expectations. Honestly nothing special. Service was great and people were friendly. Maybe i have to adjust my expectations, but i prefer new york pizza to this, and i am a pizza snob. Beware that they have strange hours bc they close for the middle of the day and reopen in the evening.

Come here to get an AMERICAN style slice of thick pizza in Milan. DONOT, I repeat, DONOT get the large slice. Although it’s only 50 cents more, DONOT. Because it will be so tasty that you, like me, and everyone else I came with that day, will force yourself to eat the entire plate. The regular is already big enough. A large is gluttonous… in fact, two can share a regular size. It is good and tantalizing, but remember, please do not make yourself sick. ENJOY!

So famous that I had to try it, I must admit the quality is good but in no way I would call this ‘focaccia’ a pizza: it doesn’t look nor taste like a pizza! Still, good even though quite expensive. Better to take it away than to eat it standing at the desk by the counter: you’ll pay almost half!

They have been rude to me. I was going to give it 3 stars but when you are rude to someone you always deserve to get at least one star detracted. Let’s begin saying that the other Spontini at Duomo(via Papiniano) is better. The staff there is kind and the place looks way better. This Spontini instead looks kinda old, it’s not really nice but whatever, the pizza is good. What is not good instead is the service and the staff(or at least the two people of the staff I interacted with). A waiter approaches me after I got seated at the counter and starts staring at me… and staring, and staring. I stare back at him. I was thinking«so this is the moment where you should say ‘hello, welcome. How can I help you?’ but no he just stood there in silence». So I was like«sssso I’ll have a margherita and a can of coke.?» Waiter: «we don’t have coke, only Pepsi» Me: «ok so a can of Pepsi» Waiter: «we don’t have a can of Pepsi, only Pepsi Light.» Me: «ok so a can of Pepsi light!!» Waiter: «ok, I’ll put it in a glass for you» After this interesting conversation what happens? Look at the pic below to see what I got: half a liter of Pepsi from the tap. Goddamnit what was wrong with him? Half an hour to beg him to get something from a can because I don’t like the Pepsi from tap and you bring me half a liter of Pepsi from tap? After my meal I went to pay and I asked the old guy with white hair why they got me half a liter of Pepsi when I clearly asked for a can(0,33). He said«it’s the same thing» and started making up excuses. He had an excuse for every objection I had. That’s not the way to deal with customers. Ok let’s pay: I give him my credit card. He says«no we don’t accept this one»(it was a VISA) ok so I gave him a second one and he says«no you can’t pay with this unless your bill is more than 10 €. Holy hell. So I buy something else and I walk out disappointed. Never coming back to this place.

Hands down n° 2: Spontini rulez. This is the very first of many spots that the owners opened throughout the city. If you like the tall, crusty at the bottom, soft in the middle, and greasy on the top kind of pizza this is your place, go for it! It’ s soooo good and tasty you will become an habitué. It’s the most popular Spontini and it’s always busy, but I never had any problems and never found it overcrowded, especially on sunday night. If you don’t want to wait a few minutes for a table you can sit in front of the window or at the wall; nobody will push you to leave your seat. The service is fast and friendly. I really can’t tell you why but there’s a very homey vibe in here. It’s just a short subway ride basically from everywhere: just hop on the red line trains and gett off at Lima for a fab pizza. #crave#for#pizza##

Nettes kleines Pizzaschnellrestaurant. Es ist jedoch eine Kette, denn wir haben spontini auch noch an anderer Stelle entdeckt. Die Pizza ist dick und luftig und lecker belegt. Aber alles muss recht zackig gehen und sitzen bleiben darfst du auch nicht: unsere Tischnachbarn mussten ihren Platz räumen weil schon die nächsten Gäste warteten. Naja. Trotzdem leckere Pizza.

Nachdem ein Reiseführer auf diese Pizzeria verwiesen hat, sind wir erstmal fast an dem kleinen unscheinbaren Laden vorbeigelaufen. Innen sehr einfach eingerichtet, aber zur Mittagszeit brechend voll mit Einheimischen(meist ein gutes Zeichen)! Es gibt im Grunde nur die klassische Pizza Margharita im luftigen Teig, die jedoch ist mit dem unglaublich leckerem Mozzarella-Käse die mit Abstand beste Pizza gewesen, die wir je gegessen haben. Wir sind 2 Tage später vor der Abfahrt zum Flughafen nochmals hin! Wer auf eine relativ günstige leckere Pizza hofft und dafür auf ein tolles Restaurant-Interieur verzichten kann wird defintiv nicht enttäuscht werden! Klarer Pizza-Tipp in Mailand!!!

In dieser Pizzeria gibt es nur eine Pizzasorte: Margarita in kleinen und großen Stücken. Dazu wir Öl mit eingelegte Chilis serviert. In manchen Stücken findet sich zusätzlich eine Sardelle. Das Restaurant ist einfach eingericht, die Bedienung freundlich und schnell. Da sich schnell Schlangen zur Abholung oder für einen Tisch bilden, wird man nach dem Essen freundlich darauf hingewiesen, bitte den Tisch zu räumen. Das Spontini ist sicher kein Restaurant für ein gemütliches Abendessen, aber wenn man in der Gegend ist, erhält man hier eine sehr leckere und günstige Pizza. Der starke Andrang und die Tatsache, dass es das Restaurant schon seit 1953 gibt zeigt, dass dies wohl auch die Mailänder finden.

Best pizza al taglio(sliced pizza) of Milan. Cheap and tasty, same recipe from 1967. Atmosphere old Italy, that is smelly, cheap but clean. Not a place for a date, but you have to try it. No reservation but a fast queue, service is lighting fast. I possible I recommend to take away a whole pan(3 – 4 people) and eating it at home.
