Where else in Milano can you get a Shamrock on your head? … I am talking Guinness of course! Always a clear indication that you are being served a pint of the Black nectar that has been kept in the very best order when the Shamrock looks like an etching in the creamy top. I was on a mission in the Centro Storico area to find a café bar that supposedly sold Alicia Lini Lambrusco by the glass but got slightly led astray as usual. Whilst wandering down via Brera I stumbled upon a vision that said ‘Bulmers & Guinness’ inside. I had been spitting feathers for the best part of an hour so thought it prudent to top up my booze tank and quaff a couple of jars, the first of which disappeared faster than an ice chip on a BBQ. As small as O’Connell’s is, it packs in ambiance and their buffet is loaded to the gunnels with some fine eats. It pays respect to its location by only serving the finest involtini, crudo & insalata along with penne, ravioli & risotto dishes. Yep, I tried them all pfffft I shall continue my quest for the elusive Lini910 Lambrusco tomorrow … As for O’Connell’s … it is A-OK to be sure… Res ipsa loquitur
