Surprisingly tasty foods, esp. Pizza & penne. and very friend service. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Don’t waste your time elsewhere, this is the place to go for great quality and taste, not to mention friendly service! Everything was perfect and the interior is beautiful! Highly recommended! Especially since the pricing is reasonable!

My room in a nearby hotel was not ready till noon. I was there at 9 am, and, true to the Italian style, I asked the wife of the owner who is English if she minded if I sat there. Naturally being the Italian style they said yes, and so I sat there for over 2 hours eating a sandwich, some fruit and a coffee – only in Italy! In Italy the restaurants never expect you to eat and run but to sit and stare or read or talk. No rushing ever anywhere. If only America was like that, since here they would have the waiter bugging you till you gave up and left. Not in Italy. I used this clean restaurant many times during my couple days in Milan as it was easy and convenient. Great service, nice people, good food, well run. What more can I say? This restaurant is just blocks from the central train station and so convenient, since I was leaving for the U.S. in 2 days and not feeling well while I was in Milan. The area near the central train station in Milan is opposite of Rome’s Termini – very safe looking. I had a team of pickpockets target me at the Termini, and, from my understanding speaking with women, the Roman pickpockets target just anyone – tourists, locals, anyone. Luckily, I caught onto their thing and got away in time. Others haven’t been so lucky. Regardless, Milan is totally the opposite of gritty Rome’s train station. So, if you are there, don’t hesitate to stay around there and eat at Nico’s.

As the name suggest, this is a great place for a quick bite. I stopped by a couple of times as this place is right across from my hotel in Milano. Friendly staff! Right next to the metro entrance and across from Milano Centrale but at the same time it’s away from the hustle and bustle of la stazione.

It’s right across our hotel and so we went in initially out of convenience but we were pleasantly surprised by the food in terms of reasonable prices and warm service. The first time we had the lentil soup and the basil gnocchi and both were hearty and comforting after a chilly day at Lake Como. Yummy! We came back again on our last night, after dealing with crappy service from sales staff from Chanel and also inattentive service by the Duomo’s Mercanti café.(Literally ignored us!) We ordered the gnocchi once more and tried out the 4 staggione pizze. Unfortunately the second time, we discovered that the gnocchi was cold in a few spots – it was microwaved. Even with re-heating, the texture was not as good as the first time. Pizze was good though.
