Wow. My husband and I had the BEST spaghetti and meatballs of our lives here. It was so good we came back for dinner a second time. The first night I had lasagna which was good but not nearly as good as my husband’s spaghetti plate. I knew we had to go back and order the spaghetti again. The atmosphere is quaint and real-nothing overly fancy but the food is so worth the trip. We also love to supper family owned businesses and this met both criteria. Thanks mama!

A little gem of a place. We came because of the reviews on Unilocal and we were not disappointed. Friendly, relaxed and busy, but the food was excellent. Chatted with other tourists and locals, had a great evening to end our break in Venice.

A family-run restaurant with a cozy atmosphere to relax, journal, and unwind after a solo day of combing Venice by foot. Two of my favorites, polenta and mushrooms, come together in one simply presented and texturally perfect dish with salami to boot. Topping off with Apertivo, and an evening stroll brings day one of vacation to a blissful end. Grateful.

We ate here last night. It’s a mom and pop shop, that takes pride in their food. The mushroom risotto was the best I’ve ever had. We ordered steak, chicken and veal. They were all delicious. Very nice people and service.

My wife and I tried this place based on the reviews. We soon left. Our insalada de mere(seafood salad) included rotten calamari. Unfortunately I didn’t notice the smell until it was too late and I ate a piece. We canceled the rest of our order. How can you trust a place that serves spoiled seafood.; poor food handing practices in kitchen.

Great place for a meal! We came to Venice(Mestre) by train from Rome @ 10PM. Their kitchen closes @ 2230. We read the Unilocal reviews and took a taxi over ASAP. Previous reviews were ONTARGET. We ordered the Sea(food) salad, spaghetti with fresh clams, mixed green salad, ¼ liter of white wine & tiramisu. They’re CLOSED on Sundays. We’re glad we passed up the Soul Kitchen @ the Plaza Hotel :-)

Went to this place since the reviews were good and it was near our hotel. The staff was very friendly and there is a sign outside saying all the languages they speak. They were very welcoming and explained the menu which was already in the different languages. The food was excellent but the bread they give you was a bit stale. People kept coming in which was nice to see locals. If we stayed in the area longer, we would go back.

Absolutely fantastic! I came here my first night in Venice and came back the next day. Start with the Mussels in Marinara, and have the Gnocchi with Pesto. It will make your heart leap with joy. Small family operated, genuine Venetian food. English friendly! Their son, Marco speaks beautiful English and will assist you in ordering.

the address says venezia but the restaurant is actually in mestre. it is a pleasure to be able to write the first review. as a flight attendant i have traveled to venice many times over the years. carlas’ has consistently been superb. it is a family restaurant– enzo waits on the tables while carla cooks in the kitchen. occasionally their son also helps. i chose to have my retirement dinner there instead of traveling to venice– they are that good! the spaghetti con vongole is delicious and enzo will let you know if the clams are not fresh. tagliatelle with truffles– wonderful. my sister ordered them 2 nights in a row. gnocci with basil sauce also superb– my daughter also ordered it 2 nights in a row. bracceola with rocket and shaved parmesan– yum. makes my mouth water just remembering. spinaci with garlic and hot pepper flakes. tiramisu. i could go on and on.
