Hands down one of the best meals we’ve had in Italy. Molto bene! The service is outstanding, too. We were welcomed and given the right amount of attention and conversation. Don’t forget the art.

Our fabulous Air B&B host, Raffaele, told my friend and I about this gallery. Raffaele is very integrated into the thriving art community at Lucca, and we were very lucky to have his guidance. Galleria Numero 38 is a gem — the owner, Irio, poured us fabulous wine and was an absolute delight to speak with. We originally planned to go to the opera next door after apertivos here, but enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed. Bonus: you can hear the opera from the backyard garden where the drinks are served! The food turned out to be little morsels of deliciousness. Their on-site chef is amazing, and this little experienced turned out to be one of the most delicious ones in Lucca. I would definitely come back here next time. Generous pour of wine and nibbles, plus the chance to converse with a very interesting gallery owner and artist, in an art gallery. Very meta, and easily the best 5 euros you will spend on this trip.
