Nice hotel near center of town. The clerk was funny and said 6th floor but no elevator… Just kidding. We asked for top floor and didn’t hear any road noise. Had a nice breakfast on the terrace outside. We are going to look for a fun museum nearby and then go to see our son at Clemsons architecture program here.

Gayle and I stayed at the Bristol Palace for our last night in Italy before heading home. It has a nice elegance to it, that is accented by its signature elliptical staircase that seems to spiral up into suspended space. We stayed on the 6th floor which gave us a view both up and down. We didn’t spend a lot of time in Genoa, but the Bristol Palace is centrally located in the heart of Genoa and gave us a chance to see a great many interesting sights within a relatively short walk from our Hotel. It’s not far at all from the Ducal Palace, the Carlo Felice Theatre, Old Port, and the most significant museums and historical buildings. We also didn’t spend a lot of time in the Room, as were out most of the time exploring. However, the bed was comfortable, the shower was full and hot, Wifi was strong, and a good breakfast was served. And at around 140 Euros per night(including the mandatory Tourist Tax), it was a good value for the money.
