I lived right across the street from Turkuaz, and it took so much self-control not to stop in whenever I would walk by. Their kebab is stuffed with meat, and the sauces are so, so good. Everything drips out of the pita bread, which is fine with me because that means more food! Don’t worry though, they wrap it in a plastic bag so it won’t be a huge mess. I often would stop by here late in the evening after class, or take it to-go and walk around to the nearby attractions. This place is really convenient for tourists since it’s near the main piazza(Duomo), just midway down Via dei Servi. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quick meal and don’t want to eat at any of the expensive tourist trap restaurants. I believe their menu items are around 10 €, so pretty cheap considering it’s so close to the main tourist attractions such as Piazza del Duomo and the Galleria dell’Accademia. Try this place! You won’t be disappointed!

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I came here because I had been in Italy for a few days and wanted something besides pizza/pasta. The place didn’t seem very clean and the guy working there didn’t use gloves and I never saw him wash his hands… also as mentioned, they microwaved the falafel patties — which weren’t even that good.

Very nice doner kebab! Needed a change from Italian food and this worked out great. You can eat here fairly fast if needed.

Nice break from Italian food and nice, friendly service. They have other options besides what’s posted on the menu outside.

I commend them on having no shame about MICROWAVING the falafel right in front of us. The humus used in the wrap was pretty watery, but the yogurt sauce and the hot chili spread were pretty good!(THEREDSAUCEISNOJOKE, IT’S SPICEASHECK). Other than the two sauces, the whole wrap and falafel were pretty bland. But their open until 3AM everyday, which is a plus! Altogether, it was a so-so experience.

Affordable fast food. Not a place for ambiance nor the place for a sit down dinner. But perfect for lunch when you are tired of pasta and pizza. And cheap lunch for some hungry vacationers between walking to all the sights. Try a kebab roll with some of the hot sauce. :-)

We asked for a trattoria that served«gyros» and were pointed to this place. Not much for décor, but that’s where the food takes over. We asked for 2 beef kabobs and were given pieces of heaven. The pita, the beef, fresh tomatoes, lettuce and dressing were FANTASTIC. Each sandwich was more than a meal and only cost € 5,00. Sure beats what we paid for gelato the night before. I HIGHLY recommend Turkuaz for lunch or picnic or take home. Absolutely benissimo. Rick Steves recommends this place too. And it’s just a block northeast of the duomo.

Maybe for Italy this is okay. But as someone from Los Angeles, this place really underwhelms. No comparison to similar foods available in LA from Armenian, Lebanese, Persian restaurants and shops.
