I have to say, when I heard there was a thai restaurant in Florence, I was ready to be dissappointed but I heard good things about this location so we decided to give it a chance and try it out this week for a special dinner sampling all that they have to offer. It’s location by Cascine Park is not really ideal for foot traffic but the restaurant itself is very beautiful, it feels quite literally like being in a garden. We started off with some special cocktails from the bar, think mojito made with ginger and a ginger fizz. Superb quality and probably one of the best cocktails I have had in some time. That is a huge plus and a great start to a meal if you ask me ;-). We also sampled some of the various appetizers, such as stuffed fried dumpling and a baccala cod salad. Everything was really good and the perfect appetizers to whet tthe appetite. I also really liked the tuna carpaccio.
We tried as a main course a pad thai dish, a rice dish and green curry. All were absolutely flavorful and delicious, plus the quantities were impressive as well. They also have a great white saviugnon wine to wash down the curry and you can find vegetarian options for those who wants to skip meat or fish. The meal ended with yetm more… ginger(i think you can tell I love this spice) with a very special and yummy panna cotta. It’s refreshing to say the least that a restaurant like this exists in Florence. If there was one cuisine I missed, it was Thai food and they really hit the spot. I will absolutely come back here for a fun friends night out and even just to try the fabulous cocktails.
