Palazzo Gamba

We loved staying at Palazzo Gamba. It is so close to the Duomo that you feel like you can reach out the window and touch it. The bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen has everything you need. We loved out stay.

The Best Apartments in all of Florence Italy … Frescos on the ceilings, and the sounds of the bells from the Duomo. Perfection … Marco and Christina are more than helpful, they are family. A must stay in Florence …

This may well be the nicest place we have EVER stayed! The view! the location! The service! The ambiance! My family adored it. We stayed here twice, and the second time they welcomed us back with champagne and Easter chocolates (personalized to boot!). They gave us wonderful guidance on where to eat and what to see. Setting it all up was a breeze over email and internet. I almost hate to give it such a high rating because it might be full the next time we come to Florence.

One of my favorite museums in Firenze! The Palace was built by the Pitti family during the Renaissance, only to later on be purchased by the Medicis. With an enormously vast and impressive history (just like to everything else in this gorgeous city), you can easily spend an entire day at the Palazzo. Sadly i was limited to a mere 4 hours :(
Pitti Palace is walking distance from Ponte Vecchio and houses the Boboli Gardens in addition to a huge amount of major principal works of art. In the Palatine Gallery (which has 28 rooms), one will enjoy many famous Raphael paintings-​Madonna della Seggiola, Woman with a Veil, Portrait of Agnolo Doni (just to name a few). I was really excited to see Caravaggio’s Sleeping Cupid here as well.
Other Galleries include the Silver & Porcelain Museums as well as the Royal Apartments & Costume Gallery. There are different price options for museum entrances depending on where or not you have a Firenze card or what combination of galleries you would like to visit. There is also a café/​restaurant although i did not try it out.

The Palazzo Pitti is a gorgeous building, walking distance from the Ponte Vecchio. Access is included with the FirenzeCard. There are a number of different galleries — my favourite was the costume galleries, featuring everything from wedding dresses to modern Italian designers. A must-​see if you’re obsessed with Italian fashion like me!

Quite a large and beautiful building. It’s a Place which houses Medici family palace, combined with gardens and an art gallery. There is fee to get in but it’s quite a lot to cover so plan to spend a few hours or so if you can going in.

Auf unserer Besichtigungstour durch Florenz haben wir auch noch kurz den Palazzo Pitti gestreift. Man erreicht den Palazzo über die Ponte Vecchio auf der anderen Arnoseite. Anschließend über die Via Guicciardini gelangt man auf die Piazza Pitti.
Der riesige Palazzo Pitti verfügt über drei Etagen und wurde ab 1457 als Wohnhaus für den vermögenden Bankier Luca Pitti am weitläufigen gleichnamigen Platz erbaut. Die ersten Bauarbeiten führte der Architekt Luca Fancelli durch nach Entwürfen von Brunelleschi. Der wunderschöné Innenhof wurde nach einem Plan von Ammannati entworfen.
Heute findet man in den Räumen unterschiedliche Museen und Galerien, die bedeutendste ist die. Sie verfügt über Privatsammlungen der Großherzöge, mit Kunstwerken aus dem 15. bis 17. Jahrhundert, darunter Werke von Tizian, Giorgione, Raffael, Rubens. Die Galleria Palatina gehört zu den bedeutendsten Gemäldegalerien der Welt.
In den ehemaligen Sommergemächern des Großherzogs ist im Erdgeschoss des Palazzos das Museo degli Argenti. Hier findet man eine wertvolle Sammlung von Tafelsilber, Juwelen und Stoffen der ehemaligen Schatzkammer. Viele Schaustücke stammen auch aus den Uffizien, dem Bargello sowie von den fürstlichen Erzbischöfen von Salzburg und der italienischen Könige.
Im zweiten Stockwerk stößt man auf toskanische Malerei des 19. und 20. Jahrhundert. Darauf hat sich die Galleria d’Arte Moderna spezialisiert. Hier findet man eine beeindruckende Sammlung der Malerei anderer italienischer Schulen und auch Beispiele der Bildhauerei aus dieser Zeit.
Dem Palazzo ist das Museo delle Carozze angegliedert. Hier befindet sich eine Sammlung von Prunkkutschen, Kaleschen und Wagen aller Art, die im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert genutzt wurden.
Wer genügend Zeit bei seinem Florenzbesuch mitbringt, sollte sich dies Sehenswürdigkeit nicht entgehen lassen.

Hingehen ist ein Must! Da hängt nicht nur die Rafael Madonna (übrigens bei Desp. Housewives hängt ein Duplikat bei Gaby und Carlos Solis über dem Kamin) sondern, man kann auch Köstüme und Skulpturen anschauen!
Das ist sehr interessant auch die Pietra dura (Florentiner Mosaik aus Halbedelsteinen) sind sehenswert!

Quite simply one of the most beautiful buildings (inside and out) in what’s probably the most beautiful town on Earth.

Ein Muß für jeden Florenzbesucher, verschiedene Ausstellungen, u.a. auch Kostüme, bei denen auch Lagerfeld seinen Platz gefunden hat. Direkt daneben die Bobboli Gärten, gut zum spazierengehen, mit zauberhaften Blick auf Florenz.

El Palazzo Pitti es un gigantesco palacio renacentista en Florencia, Italia. Está situado en la ribera sur del Arno, a muy corta distancia del Ponte Vecchio. El aspecto del actual palacio data de 1458 y era originalmente la residencia urbana de Luca Pitti, un banquero florentino. Fue comprado por la familia Médicis en 1539 como residencia oficial de los Grandes Duques de la Toscana.
