Not only is it the best gelato in Florence, it’s the best gelato I’ve tried in Italy. The dark chocolate is to die for– and makes a great pairing with canella(cinnamon) and pistachio. Do yourself a favor and get a scoop or two on your way to wait in line at the Accademia.

Delicious! Oh my lord I love this place. Been living in Florence for 1 month already and ha e made it my mission to find the best gelato. This one definitely had made it to my top 5. Their coconut flavor is to die for.

Delicious, but the service is hit or miss. The gelato is fresh and the flavors are vibrant. They taste just as you think they should. I have found the fruit flavors to be a tad icy, but still have great flavor. I’ve tried stracciatella, canela, dark chocolate, mango and peach, strawberry and lemon. All were very good and really tasted like their flavors. When I went in today, there was a fruit order in the back so I can only assume that they make the gelato fresh. I would recommend it, just keep in mind that the ladies behind the counter might a little indifferent towards you but don’t let that stop you from experiencing some wonderful gelato.

My plan is to have gelato here twice per day on this trip. So far I’m on schedule. To date: melon, fragola, cinnamon, chocolate, coconut, crema, pine nut, mint chip(after eight). There is no finer gelato anywhere in my opinion — and I am very serious about gelato.

Try the«crema di latte». It’s far superior to any fior di latte you might try elsewhere. Then try the After Eight, which would be a mere mint and chip in an ordinary gelateria but is something almost sublime, the way they make it here. Yes, they don’t have a large selection of flavors, but the ones they do have are so good that it doesn’t matter. In the winter, they serve a rich cioccolata calda that you can have with whipped cream, if you so desired. And not whipped cream from a can. Actual whipped cream. It makes such a difference. Ma quanto mi manca Firenze =(Hehe…

The best gelato we had in Firenze. Wakako U. has a theory that the best gelaterias are the ones which cover the ice cream containers. She may very well be right; our field-testing of our theory seems to confirm this somewhat bizarre notion that has locals scratching their heads!
