I had the best pizza of my life here a little over a year ago. I just discovered they’re here on Unilocal and oh boy do they deserve a review. We had the Vulcano with burrata added. Pizza Hacker in San Francisco comes close, but this pizza at Le Campane is still my favorite.

I went to Le Campane for dinner last night and followed the reviews I saw here I ordered the Margherita Doc with bufala mozzarella and grana padano cheese and it was really excellent. The atmosphere wasn’t that wonderful, but the pizza was great! The owner was also really fun since my friend and I were there to watch the soccer game and he was very invested in it! Overall a really good experience!

It’s sad that we found this place on our last day in Florence. The pizza margarita was very good. Almost Naples good. If you want authentic style, order the pizza margarita doc, it has buffalo mozzarella. otherwise, plain pizza margarita is plenty good, and at € 5,50 a bargain. Lots of other pasta options too, but we’ll miss out on those :/

I LOVETHISPLACE I just hope one person is looking for a place to grab a pizza in florence and thinks to check Unilocal.just one. I used to live around the corner from this place, and twice a week I would walk in, order a pizza(or sometimes I’d mix it up with a calzone) almost always with prosciutto cotto, and I’d watch as they chefs deftly 1) made the pizza from scratch, 2) kept the wood fire going consistently in the huge brick oven up front, and 3) rotated and cooked the pizza(or calzone… which is literally just a folded over pizza — sauce inside, no ricotta) to perfection. I miss this place more than I would hypothetically miss my right hand or my sense of smell(this may be an exaggeration, but who knows).
