I’ve had French Macaroon’s before and never liked them here in the west. Too sweet and a bit stale or hard BUT This is the Real Deal! We got a box of the most delicious array of beautiful Macaroon’s at a cost of 1.50 Euro’s each. This is the original source of the Macaroon from Paris so It doesn’t get better than this. A Beautiful shoppe with a gorgeous display and décor. Every one was absolutely delicious. We had Pistache, Rose, Cognac, Chocolate, Coffee, Salted Caramel, and Raspberry. Oh my, I’m so glad we started eating them a little after we left and we were too far away or I would have gone back for another beautiful box.

This was an easy 5 star. This infamous company Laduree has held its reputation up to the mark in its Firenze branch. With its beautiful shop and very passionate employees it makes for a pleasant experience. Now I don’t know if you like macaroon’s but I feel like even if you didn’t you would enjoy these. With some of the most interesting flavors two of which being cinnamon and earl gray tea flavor I couldn’t resist. Also with such a low price at just € 1.50 each compared to London where they are £2 each! The earl gray tea flavor really was impressive especially as I have never seen it before. In addition to this they sell very nice tea. I bought some of the earl gray tea and some normal green tea and the packaging is beautiful as well as the taste of it!

This store is beautiful and full of tempting gifts. Of course, each tinted macaron with its luscious ganache filling is delicious. These make lovely gifts for someone special, including yourself!

I love Laduree! And quite frankly if I had the money to spend, I’d probably buy one of the large boxes, just so I could taste all of the Macarons. Today I popped in and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful store, that said I’ve never seen a location of Laduree that wasn’t beautiful. I loved that they were selling recipe books, one for sweets, one of afternoon tea… I wanted them, but didn’t want to shell out 35 euro per book… maybe another time. Anyway I decided to go a little bit decadent and go with the box of 6. The Purple Napoleon Box :). I chose the following flavours: Marie-Antoinette Tea, Rose Petal, Bergamot and Chocolate, Raspberry, Lemon, and Salted Caramel. Since they last for about three days, I did decided to eat two a day. A little treat for myself! Day 1: Marie-Antoinette Tea and Rose Petal. First of all, the reason I didn’t give the place more stars is that these two were not baked all the way through… yes, even the pros get it wrong. I thought they looked a little flat compared to the others, but didn’t think anything of it until I bit into the Marie-Antoinette Tea and discovered that the shell was about as gooey as the filling. That aside, the Marie-Antoinette Tea kind of tasted like Fruit Loops… I wasn’t sure what I was going to get with this one, but here is the description from the website about the flavor: «A delicious marriage of Chinese and Indian black teas combined with rose petals, citrus fruit and honey.» The Rose Petal, texture aside, was a very delicate flavor, not very strong. Day 2: Bergamot and Chocolate and Raspberry. I always know what I am getting the Raspberry and it was delicious as usual. The Bergamot and Chocolate… valiant effort, but didn’t quite hit the mark. This comes off the heels of having a scoop of Bergamot gelato and dark chocolate gelato… they worked together then, but this time, I think there was simply too much chocolate overpowering the Bergamot. Day 3: Lemon and Salted Caramel. The texture of both of these… even on day three was impeccable. No cracks, not flat! The Lemon though wasn’t what I remembered… instead of tart, it was kind of sickly sweet. That was disappointing as I was hoping for something a bit tart. However, the Salted Caramel never fails me. It was delicious and perfect in every way. I have to say this is the first time that some of the Macarons I bought did not live up to expectations. I figure that everyone has an off day and it won’t stop me from enjoying these complex and heavenly creations, however it was disappointing that it was two of six… not to mention that you do pay a pretty penny for them.

This place is famous, adorable and pricey… BUT, that didn’t stop me from buying. This is a great place to find a gift or a surprise ending to a nice dinner party. The packaging is beautiful, the treats are tasty and the store is royal. Our friends loved the caramel the best, but they were all wonderful. € 1.85 each… a beautiful box of 8 were € 17.90. If you need a pricey tasty treat, this is your place. The chocolates looked great too. Bring your €€€!
