Como o nome diz«La Cantinetta» é uma cantinazinha, pequena no espaço mas merece as 5 estrelas. Estive lá no dia 26/04, encontrei seguindo as dicas no Unilocal e foi a melhor refeição em Florença. O ambiente é casual e o atendimento pessoal e maravilhoso, a garçonete que nos atendeu foi ultra simpática, nos ajudou com a escolha do prato e foi na mesa se despedir de nós pois seu turno estava acabando. Pedimos de entrada uma Ribollita, que parece uma sopa de legumes com pão, falando assim não é nada demais, mas estava uma delicia. Depois veio uma Bisteca Fiorentina, prato enorme e típico da região, tudo divido para duas pessoas. No final conheci o dono, que veio falar conosco, também muito atencioso e cortes. Resumindo, a comida estava ótima, mas o destaque mesmo foi o atendimento.

This restaurant was a great choice for lunch and conveniently located close to many downtown hotels and shopping areas. The house wine is a comfortable Chianti that goes well with anything. It is even bottled with the restaurant’s label which is a nice way to demonstrate the quality and understanding of what they are serving by willing to put their name on it. I was able to try two pasta dishes; the ravioli with ricotta and spinach in a porcini mushroom sauce, and the pici with a spicy bacon garlic sauce topped with ricotta. The ravioli were cut large but not overstuffed with creamy ricotta. The porcinis were cut small and thin, I would have liked more mushrooms to enhance the freshness as they were in season. The pici was wonderful, thick strands of pasta. The sauce is a real crowd-pleaser as you can never go wrong with bacon and garlic. Spicy hot pepper flakes and dollops of cool ricotta filled out the flavor wheel to make this a really hearty, tasty dish. We were quick to be seated and the waitstaff was very attentive. The interior is cozy, well lit and very clean, lined with wooden shelving and wine. Overall it was a satisfying lunch option.

I was walking with a friend around the duomo and suddenly it started raining so we thought it made sense to find a place to get shelter and dinner. I am so glad I found this place. The restaurant is quite small but it’s amazing because it gives it a very cosy feel which is of course perfect for more intimate meals. What I haven’t yet mentioned is this restaurant specializes in meat. So my suggestion would be to get a bottle of red wine, personally I always love a Sangiovese because it is a light wine and generally inexpensive, followed by a steak or something similar. Sadly the name escapes my memory but it was a generous sized steak cooked medium rare, the meat was delicious and very juicy. Furthermore it was covered in an amazing balsamic sauce that could not have complimented it more. My only suggestion would be to make a reservation for dinner as it seems to fill up quickly.

We stumbled upon this place needing a bathroom. 1+ hours later, full of the tastiest pastas we’ve had. Wife’s pear & cheese ravioli in a fondue sauce was too good with an awesome combination of flavors and texture. My fettuccine in «boar sauce» was unique and occasionally some pop from the whole peppercorns you stumble upon. Very intimate and small dining, so get there early. This is one of those place that is so good that I almost don’t want to review it. We got there early and the owner waited on us between prepping for the dinner service. Prices are reasonable. Taste is excellent. Service is friendly. They make the meats including salami specific to the region in house and they also make their own desserts. The pappardelle with wild boar was excellent as was the steak with Gorgonzola and honey sauce. Will return here and tell my friends they should go when in Florence!
