I came here for brunch and a massage. 5 stars all the way. Interior is grand and decorated in an old English library kind of way, with hints of the old palazzo accentuating the history and ambiance. We took a tour of the rooms and they look amazing, with all the amenities of a private home(and more!). Brunch was expansive, they had all the meats and cheeses from the region, endless wine, champagne, and rose. I had an egg sunny side up which was quite yummy and served under a silver dome. So fancy. Afterwards, I had a massage in their spa near the pool. It was absolute heaven and the interior was just as carefully designed as the hotel.

First of all, to save you all this reading — STAYHERE. It’s simply fabulous. I have never felt more at home than I have at Il Salviatino. After my mother and I landed in a chilly Florence(Dec 262012), we cabbed to Il Salviatino. We were greeted outside by two gentlemen with umbrellas(really!?) who walked us into the main lobby. We were quickly checked in, and a butler of sorts, Guiseppe, led us to our room. Our luggage had already arrived. We were given a quick overview of all that they offered(restaurant, free breakfast, free wifi, spa, trails, etc) and were left to enjoy our day. Our room was amazing(#8) — facing Florence, with a perfect view of the Duomo. The bed was incredible, and everything about our space was immaculate. If we ever needed a single thing, any member of staff was right there to help(no matter what their job). A lovely member of the wait staff, Giulia, brought us wine in the Library all the way from the basement restaurant with absolutely no complaints. We spent the next couple of days eating at their amazing restaurant, drinking their perfect wine recommendations, being pampered in the spa, and of course lounging in their gorgeous library. There was also a good amount of time spent wandering through the amazing gardens and tress(sometimes inebriated). And please visit their website — the main page video will not disappoint(it’s what sold us!). If you’re wondering, like I did, if the hotel«comes with the guy in the video» — well yes, ITDOES. He’s one of their amazing staff, and let me tell you, just as lovely as he is in the video! Apparently they offer a free shuttle service to the Firenze city center. We wouldn’t know, as we simply couldn’t bring ourselves to leave the property. Thank goodness we’d set aside two extra days to stay at another hotel near the Duomo! Everyone needs some Il Salviatino in their lives.
