Was sad to hear they closed their store in Manhattan(apparently will reopen soon). They have endless amounts of beautiful papers, fountain pens, notebooks, bookmarks, elegant printed papers, stationary stamped with initials and wax for sealing letters! We bought a fountain pen with sepia ink as a gift. It’s pricey but if you enjoy this kind of thing I recommend stopping by

One of the things I LOVED about Firenze were the tiny specialty shops that lined up the streets around the Duomo. As someone who loves crafts(to buy, not make), I was automatically drawn to II Papiro partially because of its welcoming and warm lit environs, but mostly because of its incredible stationary, papers, cards, and related accessories you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else in the world. As the digital age begins to permanently change how we read and communicate and express ourselves, it’s important to remember that at one point in history, paper making was as much of an art as anything that was written or drawn on it. You will find papers of all colors, patterns, and more importantly, textures at II Papiro — each item is the type of product you know much work went into. I bought a few cards here… the designs are extraordinary colored silhouettes of Firenze landmarks and had detailed cuts in its design. I also bought a wax seal(although I remember being tempted by the nice calligraphy pens). Although I’ve only used it a few times, I still get a kick of STAMPING melted wax with my seal(my fancy looking initials). If you’re ever at Firenze, this place is definitely worth stopping by if only for even a little bit… you might find something you will value taking home with you that beats a lot of items you could find at your regular tourist traps.
