I wish I could rate this higher that a 5⁄5. Our experience at Il Borro was so good we returned for a second dinner, a lunchtime snack and a late night drink/dessert during our time in Florence. The food like the atmosphere is simple, elegant, refined yet relaxed. Everything we tried was delicious and reasonable in price. Service was the best we had on our entire trip to Italy.

Great place to eat in Firenze with a «panoramic view» of the kitchen inside.

We had dinner early at 6pm and sat at a communal table. The cabinets displayed various bottles of wine, oil, vinegar, etc all under the Il Borro label — a feast for the eyes in anticipation of a delicious meal. We enjoyed the Culatello on Toast, Pecorino Cheese Pie with walnut sauce, pear salad and truffle. The server indulged our vegan companion with an off-menu tomato pasta which was simple yet flavorful. After all, everything in Florence is fresh, seasonal, and the animals are happy. Florentine locals only use their freezers to make ice cubes! The special of the day was entrecôte with the sweetest onions and grilled potatoes with an anchovy caper paste. It was great to share. Ambiance-wise, the vaulted ceilings show traces of frescoes while the place is contemporary in gray and wood. Overall a pleasant dinner.
